Also, most, and I mean MOST, of the battle scenes in this movie are shot incomprehensibly and in that shitty jagged slow shutter speed effect so that the climax of the film plays out like someone scrolling through a bunch of vaguely related images in an iPhoto slideshow really fast. |

As I understand it, this film was largely an independent one. Basically (if I remember correctly), a group of very financially well-off medical doctors who were brothers decided they had always wanted to make a movie instead of pursuing their degrees in medicine as daddy wanted them, so late in their lives put up the money along with their doctor friends to make a fantasy sci-fi epic that they wrote themselves.
This travesty was the result of that "dream".
I really hate this "aging rich people make-a-wish" approach to filmmaking. It inevitably leads to awful shit that could have been put towards a project from a young underprivileged film school grad who at least is experienced enough to know how to make a damn movie. |
