I find that the socially uptight and distant societies tend to produce a lot of weird fetishes.
Japan, in particular, is experiencing a backlash towards the bolder, more assertive, "carnivore girl", who is nothing like the quiet, agreeable, traditional woman that many men were raised to expect to marry some day. The result is the supposed "herbivore boys", who are almost taking on that quiet, traditional female role instead. A lot of modern Japanese women do not want to get married at all, or at least they're in no hurry to, and that does seem to be screwing with the effective demographics. Probably one of the reasons for the currently very low fertility rate. And stuff like this. |

Faking a Glove Touch is Poor Form

Long-haired guy coming on from the right seemed to be signaling for a glove-touch, which is where the two fighters sorta do a friendly fist-bump at the start of the fight. It's sort of a sign of respect and sportsmanship, but it isn't at all necessary.
Instead of following through with the touch, though, hair guy went for a sudden takedown maneuver, hoping to catch his more sportsmanlike opponent off-guard. He was rewarded for his treachery with a knee to the face. |
