It just seems pointless to me to interview someone if you're just going to give him a pass when he starts talking about God this and the Bible that. It's a millennia-old story book about a hideously insecure war god, and yet it's somehow taboo to criticize people for taking it completely seriously. |

"Its" is a tricky one for people because, unlike other possessive pronouns like yours or ours or hers, we routinely see "it's" around as the contraction of it and is. It's easy to mistake for a possessive form, and so I think people tend to assume that "it's" is correct in both uses.
