The downside of this being cut is that, given the plot of the movie, there would have been an entire side narrative concerning Those Darn Homos, who would have been lovably and laughably camp, and boy, that'd be fun. |

This was a thing he was really proud of in interviews - the Dolemite films were pretty much entirely made by black people, for black people.
Black producer, black writers, black directors, pretty much black people all the way down the pipe. Some of the crew may not have been as professional as a big-budget hollywood joint, but those guys were making a movie by themselves, for themselves, and if you didn't like it, you were a no-business born insecure rat soup eating MOTHA FUCKA anyway. |

UPDATE: Never mind, the creators pretty much said these are gas-powered go-kart chassis (chasses? chassises?) with a Power Wheels shell on top. That's not nearly as fun. |

I wonder how much work it is to modify one of these - those look like regular old 2-stroke engines, like you'd find on a weed whacker or leaf blower. It's clearly just hanging off the back of the jeep.
You could probably do this in a couple afternoons. Mounting the engine is probably pretty straightforward. Hardest part is probably adapting the drivetrain to the gas engine. I'd imagine you might want to swap off the plastic bogey wheels that it came with for the wheels off a riding lawnmower, though... |

When you get home, listen to it with the audio on. It is really really off-putting. It's this really disconcerting droning 'singing' in a strange monotone, and it's multiple people doing it. The visuals are four-star, but the audio will probably push people either up to five or down to one or two.

The art direction is actually kind of nice, and I see where they were going; I think it's meant to evoke pixel-art style 3/4 views of people doing stuff, ala Habbo Hotel and those big sprawling group drawings.
That being said, whoever thought it was a good idea to make it SOUND LIKE THAT should be pulled behind the agency office and shot. |
