As someone who moved from a small town with Small Town Values and whatnot to a major city with Godless Liberal Gaytheist Values and currently works in a small town with Small Town Values, I can safely say this entire line of arguing can eat a fucking dick.
The assumption that some people are "not American" because of where they live is the worst kind of demagoguery. It's intentionally divisive and hateful, and serves no purpose except to cast people whose opinions are different from your own as not just wrong, but outright *bad.* Big city assholes are no different from small town assholes, except that big city assholes aren't nice to your face and then talking shit about you behind your back. |

I've only been to the retirement part of florida once or twice, but Boca Raton is terrifying. It's just one giant strip mall connected by retirement communities. It was boring as shit and I almost got fucking killed a half dozen times by old people who couldn't fucking drive.
At least the creepy redneck parts of north florida that are essentially south alabama have that awesome southern gothic ambiance to them. |
