I heard an interview with a writer for the show (perhaps the creator) who said that back then "sacreligious" words like damn and hell were the really bad ones and were used a lot, but in order to convey the uncivil nature of the frontier to a modern audience they decided to use bad words we'd be more shocked by today. Hence all the "fuck shit piss cunt" language. |

I chalk that up to the old order of Jedis being more capable and practiced. By the time of A New Hope there weren't many Jedi left and they were scattered, so it sort of follows that they're kind of rusty. Anyway, Luke did some jumpy type shit too like when he did flips with Yoda on his back and leapt out of the carbonite freezing chamber while fighting Vader. |
