As a kid then...there was one Star Wars movie and a handful of shitty Atari games. The first Star Trek movie was boring but we got mileage out of it because that was pretty much all there was.
Some hardcore Star Trek geeks say the even-numbered movies were the good ones.

HOLY SHIT, something like Guitar Hero, only with a REAL guitar...even MY VERY OWN candy-red Strat (which is like, the Ford Escort of electric guitars---Chuck Berry and Elvis Costello's favorite and Jonathan Richman wrote a whole goddamn song about that particular model, etc.)??
This is exactly the thing put in place that was missing from Guitar Hero and what kept me from playing it much...I mean sure it's fun, but IMO knowledge of a real guitar works against you when you play Guitar Hero.
Surely I am asking the impossible when I ask if a wah pedal or fuzz box or an Echoplex made from an old reel-to-reel tape recorder will work with this game.
I'd almost say I'd have more fun making insane noise that terrifies neighbors within a 2 block radius with my crappy little (though somewhat tweaked) amp and the above mentioned implements than with some game that tries to get you to play certain songs but this game is definitely a step in the right direction, or something. |

This was not very long after they invented the Happy Meal, period.
And if you thought kids bugged the hell out of their parents to take them to McDonald's BEFORE a toy came with the food and it was all packaged up in a nifty box with puzzles and stuff all over it...
The Star Trek Meal prize: this plastic thing kind-of shaped like a communicator. You fed a spool of paper that came with it into and turned a crank and it scrolled through this kind of comic strip/sequential story thing that vaguely involved characters from the TV show/movie. |
