It would be pretty funny if the Japanese as a people decided one day to just completely and permanently drop any association with anything otaku and somehow managed to keep all non-Japanese people completely in the dark about the decision. |

OK, maybe I judged this little clip too harshly.
The whole "outsider" (read: looks like it's not finished yet) style of drawing combined with that "what if the world were made of pudding?" line pushed my pissed-off-at-hippies buttons though. |

\If you like this, you should seriously for real check out stuff by the Dirtbombs, Mick's recent, active band. I've been wanting to put some of their stuff up on here for a long time but the production values of Dirtbombs clips is for some reason pretty consistently horrible. Funny that his older, sloppier band would have footage where you can actually make out words and individual notes and stuff.
And yeah, fuck the White Stripes---the Dirtbombs are a way better band.

It pretty much was.
There were a few acts that just plain sucked/were boring but it was like, 99% insane people with either really strange talents or equally strange ideas of what constitutes entertainment or a heady mix of both. Man, I miss this show (the Comedy Central version just doesn't cut it). |
