AV Undercover: GWAR covers Pet Shop Boys
10/29/14, 15:08

I didn't think they could do it without Oderus. I pretended like they could, kept up a brave face in public because I knew confidence was what the lads needed to see, but holy hell did I lie awake at night dreading what was to come. Seems I was wrong!

It's doubly cool, because GWAR could conceivably just keep getting new members, and continue playing well into the next century and beyond. Imagine if GWAR became the 20th century's version of the Punch and Judy show? Five hundred years from now, people could still be going to see GWAR concerts, partaking in a cultural ritual traced all the way back to these very times.

I would LOVE to see a remake of Mad Men, only with an 80s cartoon/anime vibe. Creative could be a ragtag bunch of martial artists, the Account guys could all be sentient robots. Bert Cooper is a fat perverted frog-sensei, Roger Stirling is a wisecracking mech who looks like Briareos from Appleseed, Peggy Olson is a half-cyborg Shinto warrior-nun, and Joan looks just like April O'Neil. Betty is a shape shifting kistune who turns into different animals depending on her mood; in one episode, she is a pig. And Don could be this hard-bitten cowboy-knight with a pirate patch over one eye, who wins over corporate accounts by besting their hand-picked champions in duels to the death within the under-city ruins of Old New York. We could work the Road Rovers in there somewhere, too.

Exactly, OZ. I don't see why people are *just now* waking up to this, and acting like income equality is something *brand new* that only started happening since, conveniently, right around the time they were born. You have never had opportunities. You were never going to get a Porsche. A hundred years ago there were no cars or shitty schools or sugar factories, and thirty years from now there probably won't be any drinking water left. Want to fix things? Tough shit. Your jobs will be outsourced to parts of the world your current lifestyle was built on through ruthless exploitation, and the only question is how quickly you'll drive the jobs there. Those Third World folks won't ever have Porsches, either, but at least they'll start to get some of the stupid bullshit that *we* measure our standards of success against, like overpriced socks and factory-made sugar treats... at least until their drinking water runs out, too.

One day, and this day will come soon, society will look on cat apologists the same way we look on creationists and flat-earthers.

Sorry, Gmork, but Science says you're wrong:

Although I think technically U-dawg would be considered a lumpenprole, as he is dangerously free-willed and has proven incapable of working sixteen hour shifts at a collectivized boot factory.

Cats are incapable of love and too weak to physically resist abuse. Of course cops are cat people.

I watched that episode with my ex-fiance years ago, thinking it would be a fun nostalgic trip. It was not. It was really stupid.

Of course, now that she left me and I've slowly gone insane, I might be more receptive to that episode!

I am being serious, BTW. Mad Men was always an amazingly well-written and well-acted show, but it was also boring as all hell. Nothing ever happened! People went to work, people came home from work. People went to work, people came home from work. Over and over and over again. There was a small hook, very early on - Don Draper had a Mysterious Past! Oooo! But then like, three episodes later, the mystery got solved and it was like, oh, OK. Back to watching people go to work.

Ugh, sooooooo boring. It's like getting sucked into a Jane Austen novel about Fairfield County, Connecticut! Glad I toughed it out, though, because seeing a prep school kid get his face punched was well worth the price of admission.

I thought Mad Men was shit, but it finally picked up in Season 6 and has actually been quite enjoyable since! There was a reverse shark-jumping moment, where Betty Draper fantasized about raping Sally's thirteen year-old friend, and ever since then the show has been a completely awesome parade of stabbings, fuckings, and dudes getting shot in the face.

As long as Ulillillia has the power to choose, Mr Wildcat. I'd rather see him free and happily scurvy-ridden, then forced to eat whatever foods Inner Party billionaires with stock options in Monsanto decide are appropriate for him.

To make Hamburger Helper without the meat:

Make Hamburger Helper. Do not add meat.
