Well no, it's steampunk, it's just a notorious flop of a Will Smith movie and not a "great" example of the genre, hence why I assumed you were trolling. It'd be like me saying, "I don't like rap, but I heard Vanilla Ice before".

Arcanum was really good! My earliest introduction to Steampunk was the PnpP RPG, Castle Falkenstein, and that was a lot of fun too.

Maybe you could try playing Castle Falkenstein one of these days, Cena?

OH MY GOD, WILD WILD WEST WASN'T - no, you know what, your trolling won't work on me, not today, not now that Operation Change Sonic's Arms Back has finally achieved it's goals.

You're right though. Nothing good has ever come of Steampunk (except maybe Kato's tits). The idea is what counts, not so much the execution.

>> The Steam Punk fandom baffles me.

>> I think these nerds would monocles and bowler hats no matter what, only Steam Punk gives them an excuse and a community to do it.

It doesn't baffle you; you obviously know why they do it.

I'm glad the judges shitcanned that little weasel. With that mouth and attitude of his, you could tell he's the sort of guy who'd constantly ruin your D&D sessions.

Love the subject matter, hate the presentation. This is pure Steamsploitation, and as head of the Brass-Armed Fencer's Guild at Castle Madchenburg, First Seat of the Lords of the Dynamo, I demand that the producers of this show undergo sensitivity training.

His teammates are Rubens, a fat turtle, Monteverdi ("Monty"), a turtle who fights with a keytar, and Bloemaert, a turtle with a silly name.

>>GTFO with your baroque bullcrap, turtles are strictly high renaissance.

No, no, it's cool; he's from the second batch of turtles, hence why he's named after am early baroque artist, instead of a high renaissance one! He's a master of Tenebra-School Ninjitsu, which specializes in attacks utilizing light and shadow. His color is black, and his weapon is a kusarigama that has a lit Chinese lantern on the weighted end.

I didn't think of any personality traits for him, because I figured that wasn't important.

NOT including fan-fiction, of course. My OC turtle, Caravaggio, might be better than Mikey, but only by a little bit.

Well, in the games, Kid Fenris is correct; Donatello is best turtle. But when I say "Mikey = Best Turtle", I mean he's the best in general, across all turtle media including the show, the reboots, films, games, and comic books.

One of them looks horrified, one of them looks dumbfounded, and the last one looks sad, disappointed, and a little angry.

Well, see, at one point, people like me were considered "cool". Now they are considered "lame" and lots of people hates us. This state of affairs is not the result of any fluctuation in the real value of our coolness, but rather, it is the result of changes in cultural currency.

In other words, to follow Master Ashtar's metaphor, "coolness" is value or wealth, "being cool" (or more specifically, "being recognized as cool") is money, and "what is currently considered cool" is currency. The monetary economics of cool, and the cultural currency being used to express values of cool, may change over time, but if your coolness has real, tangible value, then it doesn't matter what the money markets say.

I think you'll find that coolness levels have stayed fairly constant throughout the years, Master Ashtar; what fluctuates is the current market value of different *expressions* of cool. "Coolness" is a measure of real wealth; "what is cool" is a fiat currency, controlled by a handful of private, centralized, media corporations.

Inflation and the devaluation of cultural capital is certainly a real phenomenon, and this is largely due to the fact that the men who control our fiat coolness reserves stand to post huge profits by devaluing currency (and bankrupting small-scale hoarders!) every few years. However, I maintain that "coolness" still exists, as an intrinsic value, independent of, and transcendent to, our fleeting cultural currency.
