All I'm saying is, the media likes to present this biased image of the Blackbird being a harmless, innocent airplane that would never hurt a fly. But it's actually a huge, hulking, weapon-of-war, and all it takes is one little push, at the wrong moment, to make the SR-71 SNAP like a ravenous pitbull.

Also it's black.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying YOU guys are dicks! I don't mean to come off as a Nancy Naggypants or make anyone feel uncomfortable about laughing about this - hell, my first reaction was to laugh, too. But for me, there's a time and a place and a limit to all things. This is funny to a degree, but on the balance, it is FAR more sad than funny.

As for MJ, he was acquitted of all charges. There was plenty of evidence that he was a nutter with severe emotional and behavioral issues... but no evidence that he ever did anything of a violent or criminal nature. I don't care for his music and I don't care for his fans, but the jury made the call, and it was the right one.

The colour scheme is great! The pastel-icecream palette, and the subtle shifts between muting and neon, all help to underscore the dream-like feeling of this show. I could totally picture HeatherFeather or PigsBum doing ASMR to it.

Hey now, I like rape just as much as the next guy! Rape can be a lot of fun, when it's presented as a joke, and/or as a consensual fantasy for the amusement of one or more people of either gender.

But come on, guys. This woman is a rape victim. She's discussing her rape on Nancy Grace. Yeah, OK, so the plastic surgery is pretty horrible, no excuses for that, but her behavior is totally understandable given the situation, and honestly, as a mental health care professional, I see people like this almost every day. She's stressed. She's upset. It's normal, and it's not really all that funny.

Now, I've long been arguing that we should moderate our stance towards Bill Cosby. As Hazelnut points out in roundabout fashion, trials-by-media are terrible things, and no matter how convincing his accusers' stories appear to be (and in Cosby's case, they are VERY convincing), the poor old man is still entitled to the presumption of innocence. It was the same with Michael Jackson, George Zimmerman, OJ. I have also cautioned against what I will call the "culture of rape culture"; the well-meaning but potentially disastrous reaction AGAINST rape culture. False rape accusations are just as terrible as rapes (Duke Lacrosse, Michael Jackson again), as is the trampling of non-violent weirdos' civil liberties (this is a particularly odious extension of the broader issue of sex-shaming). *We must always be on guard against witch hunts, no matter how worthy the cause might appear to be.* I don't really know what you mean by "act", Hooker, but if those things are what you mean, then they're not really acts. I have not dropped any of it.

We don't know if Ms Dickinson is telling the truth. I'll grant you guys that. BUT!... is she not entitled to AT LEAST the same level of sensitivity as we give Mr Cosby? Until we *know* that she's a liar, should we not presume good faith?? It's not hard to do. One can be skeptical while still remaining sensitive, aware yet empathetic. She's a human being, in pain, who may well have spent every single day of the last three decades wrestling with the knowledge that a beloved American celebrity raped her, and she was powerless to do anything about it. I mean, for fucks sake! If I've got to join tumblr for this, then I guess tumblr it has to be.

Go check out the YT link. Read some of the comments. Stuff like "she's a crazy liar" and "she's too ugly to be raped". That's rape culture right there! That is pure, undiluted rape culture. I put it to you that if this interview was being conducted with someone like Anita - young, pretty, erudite - people would be crying for Cosby's blood. But you take a lady who looks and acts like she just came from a battered women's shelter, and the gloves come right the fuck off.

Face it, ojiisan, 70s < 80s < 90s < 00s < 10s J-pop. Japanese pop music has been an exponential progression building towards Babymetal and Rhymeberry.

Your precious "Dad J-pop" was only notable for being used in long-since-dated anime shows. In their day they were nothing more than novelty tunes, and are now kept alive through pure nostalgia.

Yeah, rape does have a tendency to turn people into fucking messes. Particularly when you're expected to talk about your rape in front of Nancy Grace and a potentially hostile audience of a few million people.

My god, do you ever stop being wrong?! 70s J-pop was awful, far worse than 90s J-pop, which as we've established is crap compared to post-millenial J-pop. That places 70s J-pop at least three orders of magnitude down the suck scale.

The 70s was a time for enka.

Aaahhh. crap on a... I just typed out this big long thing on perspective and the Renaissance, but then my browser erased everything! :(

Just real quick bullet points, then. Yes, perspective wasn't very common in old art, particularly art made prior to the Renaissance, such as this painting from the late Middle Ages:

http://www.electrummagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Triumph-of-Death.jpg

Perspective was one of the elements that made Renaissance art really "pop". After painters figured out how to use it, perspective became a basic technique taught by every formal art instructor, which in turn made it a kind of artistic shibboleth: any painter who wasn't trained in perspective stood out like, say, a guy who can barely strum a guitar chord standing in a room full of jazz-metal guitar gods. Grandma Moses is immensely respected (one of the best known "Outsider Artists", especially amongst old people for some reason), but her simple perspective led to the modern art establishment classifying her as a painter of "naive" art.

You're damn right I would. The mane character's name would be Hope Harmony, and she'd be an Earth pony with a cutie mark that resembled a UN globe behind a heart-shaped landmine.

My favorite game was this one time I got born as a rich Australian girl whose dad owned a company or something. That's hard to do, since 99% of the time you're born as a Third World subsistence farmer whose fate is virtually guaranteed to be one of the things I mentioned above. Anyway, I had a really easy childhood in Australia, and got into an awesome college, which pretty much guarantees a good job and makes the rest of the game a breeze. Then I went to do some activist work in Darfur over my summer break, because, you know, social conscience and all that... whereupon I was promptly captured by terrorists and raped to death.
