Santa Claus and 4000 Christmas Elves VS 1000 Archers

It is, and it's not. M2 is still the best TW game. Rome II had a ton of potential, and it's clearly a step up from the shit-fests that were Empire and Napoleon, but they still haven't figured out how to make a decent siege battle (something that hasn't happened in the series since M2), the Senatorial intrigue mechanism is clunky and far less satisfying than it was in the original Rome, you've got the ability to develop interesting generals back but it's severely hobbled by the fact that there's no family tree, the mod structure still sucks (again, a problem that's been with the series since the transition from M2 to Empire), and you *need* to mod the game or else all of your generals will die of old age well before they reach five stars, let alone ten.

War Dogs rock all kinds of ass, but both Cretan Archers and Berzerkers were unfairly nerfed, and the Brits don't have any cool units.

It's not about meme Yees, It's about music video Yees! I doubt memesters remember DMX, but then again, I doubt memesters remember A-ha either, except maybe as the band from Family Guy that one time.

Even so, there is better J-pop for them to pick than the stuff from Touhou.

This video is called "I Want My Yee TV". That is a play on the phrase, "I Want My MTV".

The first collection of songs was appropriate; they fit well with the overall theme, that of clicking through various MTV music videos in the manner of Beavis & Butthead. Touhou, however, does not fit. Songs like "UN Owen Was Her" and "Because Princess Inada Is Scolding Me" would not appear on MTV.

Touhou ruins the immersion and drags you out of the video.

I don't mind seeing how my bacon was made. It's not pretty, but it happens, and I'm cool with that.

I would not want to see footage of my bacon being made presented as a funny electro dance video, however.

It bears pointing out that the estimated consequences of a nuclear winter have been consistently and intentionally high-balled over the years. While there's no possible way a global nuclear war could ever be anything less than the single most catastrophic disaster in all of human history, the outcomes hypothesized by the esteemed Dr Sagan and colleagues are all based on absolute worst-case scenarios.

Friends, friends, please. You are both correct. There is no reliable data on how many civilians are killed each year. The precise totals are unknown, and perhaps unknowable. What's more, the estimates cited in Mr Spike's "own fucking article" do not appear to make any independently verifiable distinctions between "justified" and "unjustified" shootings - the "400" number, for example, is apparently derived from self-reported cases in which officers had good reason to shoot the suspect. I think we can all agree that cops do sometimes have the right to use deadly force, yes? Legitimately justifiable homicides should not count against the police.

It is also true that all the estimates look bad for the state; even the most generous of them places the number of civilians killed by cops at roughly ten times the number of cops killed by civilians. If even but a tenth of those murders was unjustified, then that would place the burden of blood squarely at the feet of the state.

Also, it's totally not cool to hang out in front of the Money Center, because that might remind WalMart shoppers of the story of Jesus in the Temple, and fuck if we'd want people remembering that, particularly at a time like Holiday. It's bad enough that some Bronze Agers still cling to BABY Jesus, imagine what would happen if they started idolizing TERRORIST Jesus!

"Christmas" carols are marginalizing and offensive to Muslims, Buddhists, and Atheists. I counted at least seven uses of the C-word in under a minute's time!

The children should have been instructed to sing Holiday carols instead.

Orson Welles discusses the effect of violent films & comics

Which plays would you place in what categories, ThatGuy? I'm having a hard time thinking of plays in which virtue triumphs, to be honest. There are a lot of plays in which villainy gets it's comeuppance, but often any virtue left standing is tangential at best and tagged on almost as an afterthought.

I guess many of his Comedies might count as "virtue triumphs", such as The Merchant of Venice, where the good guys finally stick it to that SNEAKY FUCKING JEW. But who remembers anything about *those* boring-ass plays?

People in violent places are too busy being killed to produce or consume mass media, while people in non-violent places are bored, and need to do *something*, even if it's just complaining about movies and video games.
