Fun story: I moved into my new house a couple days ago. Nice little apartment, right on the beach. Bay windows in the bedroom overlooking Long Island Sound. Oak tree in the side yard, massive branches practically inside my kitchen and living room.
Now I'm huddled in the bathroom, sleeping on the floor and watching poeTV on my phone. Thanks Nature, you real fucking killjoy. |

Bort- I wouldn't call it "a lack of pragmatism" so much as a "lack of good judgement". Personally, I'm opposed to a single payer system. I'm not sold on the idea that the State is qualified to manage healthcare (at least not since working with the VA), or that further centralizing healthcare (and, more importantly, the money used to pay for it) is even a good idea in principle. I'm also concerned about the possible consequences for individual choice that could arise from treating healthcare as a public trust, one whose burden falls on all citizens unequally; at the very least, it could (and probably will) give paternalists a very real economic argument to push for banning lifestyles deemed "risky" or "unhealthy" (from being a fat fuck, to engaging in "high-risk" sexual behavior).
That said, considering all the other crap the State mishandles and blows our money on, I'm OK with the "public option" compromise. Certainly, spending billions of dollars so that most poverty stricken families can get regular checkups is more morally and utilitarianly palatable than spending billions of dollars so our bombers can flatten Libya, or our prison industry can keep another hundred thousand nonviolent offenders cleaning up our state-monopoly-controlled road systems. |

This film has it all. ACTING!, random Christianity, an original soundtrack, sets built entirely from Legos, a fat guy with a samurai sword, bluescreen cropping issues, awkward jokes, talking dogs, high-octane battles with CGI dragons. All kidding aside, Mr Auberg has a tremendous work ethic- he's got the drive to make his creative dreams happen, despite having no talent for it whatsoever. And then, despite the fact that maybe a couple dozen people, tops, have actually bothered to watch this hour long tour de force, he's still got the heart to get out there and make about fifty more videos!
I really hope he's not going to pull this video, like he did the last one. And I really, really hope he's not pulling videos because he tracked his jump in hits back to poeTV. He's got the makings of the Internet's next Ed Wood, and it'd be a tragedy to lose him. |
