I don't know if this counts as posting public information, but...search Janet Hardy of Eugene, Oregon. I followed an author's page last night and the thread was shared on my feed. I have no idea who Janet Hardy is or if she's done anything really significant. All I know is that Janet Hardy is making me angry. "Last thing I will post in this thread.
Yeah, maybe if I were the parents of one of these little monsters, I'd be heartbroken that I failed my son if he went out and did something this terrible. But I am not their parents. I am not related to them. They did an awful thing, they bragged about it on Twitter, and they hid behind a town obsessed with its football team until they were finally thrown in the pen where they belong. I see no merit to the argument "Oh, those poor boys are too young to sign on a dotted line!" when they have a minimum sentence of one year and a maximum of up to their 21st birthdays. They'll be getting out LONG before their youth leaves them. Take it from somebody who's almost 30.
There are young girls in my family and in my life whom I have sworn to protect, even if the cost was my life. If I found out that ANYTHING resembling what happened to the Steubenville victim happened to THEM, you can rest assured that the word 'compassion' would be the furthest from my vocabulary when discussing the perpetrators. And that's a promise I will look you in the eye and tell you.
These boys are not victims. I will not treat them like victims. I will treat them like boys who left a victim in their wake. And until they prove there's a conscience and soul somewhere in there, my stance will not change."

"Hey, folks: It is entirely possible to feel deep sympathy for a young woman who was horribly abused and violated, AND to feel deep sympathy for the very stupid, very young men who got drunk, did something horrific and ruined her life and their own. They of course deserve to be punished, but it is possible to punish them while at the same time holding the understanding of how young they are and what they might become someday with proper teaching and support. There are no winners in a situation like this, just several different flavors of tragedy."
What follows is a massive thread. Many agree with her, others think the two don't deserve compassion. One of the last posts was this:
"I am verklempt at some of these responses...I. want to read through them all before saying much except wow..are you really that far removed? These are kids. These are all kids and all of their lives have been altered. Really..you would feel you had failed if your daughter got drunk but not if tour son had sex with her while she was incoherent? This has now traveled beyond Steubenville and beyond CNN. There seems to be a movement breaking out of expressing sympathy for these little shits, and it's spreading. Oh, they're so young! Oh, those poor children, not even old enough to sign on dotted lines! They were too young; forgive them, they knew not what they were doing!
They're, what? 16, 17? Any decent human at that age should have at least a rudimentary sense of right and wrong. The kind of right and wrong that says, oh, I dunno, YOU SHOULDN'T RAPE PEOPLE AND BRAG ABOUT IT TO YOUR BROS. Who gives a fuck if they're not of voting age, especially considering they'll be free to go in a few short years? You guys might not understand what it was like living in the South at this time, having people like your own mother snap "Have you FORGOTTEN what happened to your country and those people on 9/11!?" when you calmly noted that this war was completely unnecessary and would financially wipe out this country.
Bush had this horseshit in mind from the very beginning. 9/11 was his golden ticket, an event akin to divine intervention. Just to clarify:
- I love how Speech is now measured in the actual skill points rather than a roll-the-dice percentage system.
- In NV, my character has a greater effect on the world and the countless variations on the ending reflect that. In Fallout 3, there were essentially three endings: good, neutral, and evil. It either came down to "You left the Vault and became a saint to the outside world" or "you left the Vault and the outside world turned you into a raging asshole."
- FO3 had no factions in a true sense. You could be the aforementioned raging asshole and kill whoever you wanted, but in the last battle you'd still be fighting the Enclave alongside the giant Democrabot.
- In FO3, the game designers pushed their personal morality on me through the Karma system. "What? You gave the infant girl BACK to the Raiders!? You fucking asshole! Negative Karma!"
- In New Vegas, actual civilization, agriculture, and unification is returning to life. In FO3, the Capitol Wasteland was still a lawless, burnt out husk with isolated communities despite 200 years having passed where someone could have fixed some of that.
I could go on, but basically when Obsidian/Black Isle took the development ball from Bethesda for F:NV, Obsidian fixed the game by making it like first two instead of the super serious run-and-gun thing that Bethesda had created. | | Game of Thrones - 1995 Version

Hermes restores 9999 HP to Jesus-R Type every other round and provides him with a permanent shield. Jesus-R Type restores 5000 HP to Hermes every three rounds. The Lord also has a very nasty counterattack whenever Hermes' shield is up. The only way to defeat Jesus-R Type is to put away Hermes and then pelt Christ with your most devastating magic. But you only have a few rounds to do it before Jesus R-Type performs Lazarus Sigma and restores Hermes, and Jesus-R Type has some pretty badass moves, including random castings of Never Bear Fruit Again, which instantly KOs your characters.
