Guys, there was an article I just read that dealt with how Palin and her advisers are basically running their own show, making it difficult for McCains group. She was reported as being a diva, who is really positioning herself to run in 2012.

Capitalism is parasitic by nature, and by admission you are a fan of laissez faire capitalism. You need to go back in your hole and see how your competing dogmas interact with on another before talking again.
What you are exhibiting is exactly the problem with many American conservatives. They hold a moral compass in one hand and one government ideology in the other, without ever bothering to bring their hands together to see that the needles might not line up. |

What kills me is how most people don't know shit about socialism. It's merely a word with a negative connotation for them. They think it has to be incompatible with both democracy and capitalism, which it does not have to be. If people could see its something other than a totalitarian method of control, we might actually have an advanced democratic capitalist country that makes decisions based on being informed as opposed being afraid.

Not all our problems. Just the problems we think can be solved collectively as opposed to individually. American history shows us government, when taking a hands off approach, is not compatible with our sense of morality in this country.
You forget that government gets its sole authority from a mandate by the people. The government is ours to do with what we please. It in a sense the product of an unspoken social agreement within society that says: "We all have busy lives and are not capable of committing to large scale projects, therefore we agree to allow government to act as our liaison."
