Aelric: I did not pretend to get recruited. I had not been recruited at that point. I was on my way to getting recruited but there were some things I had to get cleared up with at MEPS. Once I got that cleared up there was a recruiting freeze with the branch I was planning to join. Now I have things taken care of, I've recently taken the oath of enlistment, and am now on the delayed entry program.
The thought of shipping off gives me both a sense of fear and excitement. But I lied about nothing, I am sincere and when my ship off date comes I will be ready to go.

The point is that nobody refers to Hitler as a "failed artist." I couldn't think of too many people who failed at one industry only to become hugely successful at another one.
He's not a failed radio disc jockey, he's a tremendously successful radio/TV talk show host, and a best selling author. The point is that it is a lame argument.
Who wants to be a radio disc jockey anyways? Yay I get to play the next song on my corporately decided play list. |

I don't like Glenn Beck much, but I must defend him here. The lieberals constantly attempt to discredit him with the "failed DJ" description. Well Micheal Jordan is a failed baseball player, Hitler was a failed artist. Do we think of them for their failures? Of course not.
God forbid he succeed at something different and not be haunted by an early career. The guy makes millions more than the highest paid DJs combined. |
