I liked this show a lot. It had a peculiar style of it's own (helped along by Burton actually being involved in the show's design).

Fairy tales are the new superheroes, and the best part is, they're all in the public domain so they can actually ALL do different versions of them, every studio, AND NOBODY HAS TO PAY A DIME TO ANYBODY ELSE.
What I'd actually slap down money to see is a no-frills, honest truth, biopic ABOUT the Brothers Grimm, the hassles they went through to GET their stories, the ethnic/political bullshit they believed in (as really, without them, we didn't get the Folkisch movement that led to the Nazis), and the deliberate Germanizing of stories that weren't always necessarily German. They were intellectual terrorists, and I'd absolutely love to see a movie about THEM, without, you know, CGI bullshit. |

Centralia is a heavily Mormon town and the only really hefty outpost of the Tea Party west of the Cascades. I am personally enormously fucked up due to their warped sense of priorities, as I had to live under the tyranny of their Board of Education.
I was informed, about five years out of school, that I had been placed on a "Columbine Watch List", largely due to my father being a loud and vocal Baptist rather than a loud and vocal Mormon. |
