The same as it's ever been, the entire point of the Constitution.

Naw, it's merely that democracy as an offshoot of Age of Reason era liberalism has outlived it's usefulness now that the population no longer has any faith in it.

The best hope is that we'll find some way to make a government of, for and by the people in a post-democratic sense while still maintaining individual rights, but the likelihood is that it will wither away into a group of rote catchphrases that will develop into a memetic cult.

First rule of Disney's success: little creatures need to dance in a circle around something.

Second rule of Disney's success: Satanism.

"jazz" "tonic"

How unlike a Van Beuren cartoon to actually ATTEMPT syncopation. That seems like something he'd have cheaped out on.

I'm not afraid to admit that I know more about the life of Amadee J. van Beuren than anybody else here.

That ball with thin legs has venom 9 times deadlier than any other spider in North America, but thankfully for us, it's mouth is too small to actually inject humans with it.

Why I Want To Be Chancellor Of Cambridge - Brian Blessed
09/29/11, 16:15

I've heard Brian Blessed talk before. Not on television, not on the radio, I can just hear him over here in the opposite hemisphere across the ocean on the other side of the vast landmass.

When I was a kid, my uncle was a chief petty officer in a Navy submarine. The coolest thing he ever did was bring me a world band radio and taught me how to find these things. For years, Sunday nights consisted of Dr. Demento, BBC World Service, the Polish English Language Review (yes, it exists, and it's awesome) and then late night numbers hunting. Later on I was REALLY INTO Electronic Voice Phenomenon, and I've kinda grown out of that, but Numbers Stations naturally lead into that sort of thing.

I love how the game's heroes get progressively more waifish until you're playing a teenage girl and nobody notices the switch.
