Actually, the more I think about it, the idea of the "dip" being introduced early-third act does seem a little strange without a reference to turpentine as an anti-"toon" cleaning mechanism. I mean, as a kid, I just assumed it was the same as Nickelodeon Slime, and therefore universally bad. As an adult I realize, PERHAPS TOO LATELY SO, that it was an unreferenced plot device. |
