Town hall erupts over Obama's citizenship
07/20/09, 13:13 I think you mean Santa Cruz.
This is why people like Michelle Bachmann get elected. Thank God most of them don't take the "Representative" part literally. |

Orly Taitz and Alan Keyes look foolish on Lou Dobbs Tonight.
07/20/09, 02:22 Am I crazy, or are 'baleen/Cena_mark' alter-egos. |

Frank McCourt Addresses Model U.N. Students
07/20/09, 02:00 There are extremely few people like him. If there were just a few more, I wouldn't worry anymore about the fate of the world.

John Edwards does 'The Word' on the Colbert Report
07/19/09, 20:39 Turns out its nine-months too late. |

Human rights group campaigns to end use of child politicians in Africa
07/19/09, 19:16 *physical. Stupid auto-correct. |

Human rights group campaigns to end use of child politicians in Africa
07/19/09, 19:15 Oh yeah. In the Invisible Children campaign, I heard way too often from people "It makes you appreciate our great country" and "We should thank God that we don't have such tragedies here". Like that's the damn point. Talk about the mass mental and psychical rape of children, just so we can all feel good about ourselves. |

Stephen Colbert on Glenn Beck's '9/12 project'
07/19/09, 19:08 Apparently one of the principles everyone felt after 9/11 that we need to go back to, is "I believe in God and he is the Center of my Life".
Although there were many negative emotions after 9/11, there were some good sentiments too. One of these was a massive increase in charitable donations and concern for our fellow Americans. Is charity and concern for the less fortunate listed in the 9 principles? Of course not. Is there a Randian statement suggesting that a requesting charity is like an assault on a persons liberties? You betcha. |

Bill to audit Federal Reserve shot down
07/19/09, 18:48 "The federal reserve is a private system and the FDIC is paid for by private banks."
Wow. Just, wow.
Both these institutions were created and run by the Federal government (there's a clue in the names). Although there's private participation, the participation is mandated and run by federal law. Claiming they are private entities is like claiming the government has no role running the military. |

Human rights group campaigns to end use of child politicians in Africa
07/19/09, 15:40 Really toeing the borderline there. |

Star Trek Voyager - Computer gets sassy
07/19/09, 12:58 Calculating how to make a good cup of tea.
Please wait. |

That Mitchell and Webb Look - Dog Bell
07/19/09, 02:38 Pff. I had basically this same idea years ago. It involved black market Chinese babies and rugby balls, but its close enough. |

Sen. Graham Admits He Would Have Lacked The Courage To Desegregate Schools
07/19/09, 02:12 1. No. Clearly you have no idea what her decision actually said.
2. No. Even stretching that statement to apply to the 2nd Amendment, still no.
3. Policy is made is appellate courts, and really all levels of the judiciary. The speech she made wasn't supporting this notion, but recognizing its reality. Once again the only hope of turning it into a criticism is either to completely ignore the context and distort the meaning, or just make things up. |

Pat Buchanan - Global Warming is a Hoax and a Sham
07/18/09, 16:05 Science and scientists give long, complicated answers, rather than short entertaining ones. More importantly, they give answers that are nuanced and authoritative. That's bad.
Saying "Its happening, we just aren't sure what all the effects will be" doesn't provide the continuing drama of two people yelling at each other over polar bears and socialism. |

Rep. Tiahrt (R Kansas) wonders what would have happened if Obama's mother got money for an abortion.
07/18/09, 11:56 "What if it had been free for Micheal Jackson's mother? Or Morgan Freeman? Or Wayne Brady? Or... um... the peanut-butter guy!" |

TNG - Data on political change
07/18/09, 11:51 "Terrorism is acceptable when all options for peaceful settlement have been foreclosed."
They may be space hippies, but at least they're realistic space hippies. |

7 Questions That'll Make Atheists Think!
07/17/09, 20:35 "Give 100% infallible no..."
"Let me just stop you right there." |

7 Questions That'll Make Atheists Think!
07/17/09, 19:53 I can understand reasons for doing so. Its so stupid it hurts, utterly pointless, better read than spoken, something we've heard a million times, and boring.
Still, on the basis that this is Portal of Evil, and this brainwashed nonsense is definately that... |

Sotomayor Is Unprepared
07/17/09, 00:41 True. Its okay for Senators to waste time engaging in political posturing and kabuki theater. But I'll damn well better not be represented by someone who acts like a human being. |

Glenn Beck screams at -- and like -- a woman
07/16/09, 17:30 THAT IS A FILTHY LIE!
From his earliest days at CNN, Glenn Beck has stood strong for healthcare reform, as evidenced by this video:
http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=29097
Of course his idea of reform is that the staff at his expensive private hospital with a plasma TV in his private room should be required to act like they truly care about him. And they should give him more painkillers on demand, even as he's overdosing on painkillers. Because he at least deserves better care than soldiers get.
I'm not joking. |

What if Obi-wan had used Force Speed?
07/16/09, 17:24 Sliding backwards there. |
