Clint Eastwood talks to a chair at the RNC
08/31/12, 02:50 The only question is whether he'll still be popular with the Tea Party crowd when they find out he's pro-gay marriage, anti-religion in government, and takes the environment and global warming seriously. Hell, his comments on stage about Afghanistan were as much a criticism of Republicans, but as long as he was knocking Obama the crowd didn't seem to care. |

Clint Eastwood talks to a chair at the RNC
08/31/12, 02:26 Pft, those Democrats are pathetic for the way they fawn over the Hollywood crowd. They use celebrities to sucker their supports, it's so shallow and elitist.
What's that? Some actor more famous than Jon Voight and Kelsey Grammer actually supports Romney? Get him the most prominent speaking spot you can at the convention! Hot-damn, maybe we can finally stop having to use Victoria Jackson and that cast-off Baldwin brother. |

For the Record: Unfair Racism Campaign
08/31/12, 02:10 Yes it is worse to hate someone for their race than party affiliation, because one is an trait with no effect on character, while the other describes beliefs and support for specific actions which it can be okay to dislike a person for.
That said, the FBI warned about a rise in right-wing domestic terrorists and we've seen just that, including four army officers last week. The right's fueling of extreme fear and hate in order to win elections isn't just irresponsible, but evil. They lead people on in their fears that Obama is an anti-christ Muslim commie who'll be rounding them up in death camps, with armed force as the only defense. In the last election McCain did disagree with his supporters when they expressed those fears, here they are only interested in not getting caught with the more blatant fear-mongering.
Also liking a black politician isn't a rebuttal of racism. Rarely is racism expressed as "I don't like all black people", but rather through a series of assumptions and behaviors that can be nuanced. Racists I've known have had close black friends, they are just also known to assume the white guy is the manager, that homeless black people are on drugs while whites are just unfortunate, etc. |

Newsbusted 8/24/2012
08/30/12, 22:24 I actually thought she'd improved (the jokes that is, she still mugs horribly to a laugh-track), until we hit the illegal aliens joke. At which point it kept getting worse. What was even the point of the purse-stealing joke? |

Mitchell and Webb - The Fun Historian
08/30/12, 21:54 Bill is fairly sedate, Beakman might be a better example. Or the psychopathic and child-endangering Ms. Frizzle. |

Hebrew Fail at the Creation Museum
08/29/12, 15:29 Which is funny, because the moral is supposed to be that man in imperfect compared to God, yet people deliberately make a mistake as if their normal efforts would result in perfection contrary to his will.
It's like saying "I'm playing against the greatest basketball player of all time, so I'd better miss some lay-ups on purpose so I don't make him look bad".
While I'm sure it's sincerely followed know, I'd bet anything that tradition arose from a contractor for a church who was much better at making up clever excuses than getting the job done perfect. |

Hebrew Fail at the Creation Museum
08/29/12, 00:28 Boy, those people at the museum dedicated to teaching kids that the earth is a few thousand years old and that dinosaurs were pets of people who lived for thousands of years before the global flood drowned all species not on one big boat, will sure be embarrassed to learn something in their museum is factually inaccurate. |

Cosby Watches Cosby
08/29/12, 00:09 At first they are bored and dismissive, then viscerally disgusted, and finally all enthralled in morbid fascination.
So Cosby is to the Cosby's what reality television is for us. Which makes sense, because it's their reality. |

The School Of Supernatural Ministry
08/28/12, 19:06 I'm normally on the permissive side of free speech arguments. But those false promises to cure people of all sorts of horrible mental and physical pain in exchange for money should be banned. It's just criminal fraud. It's no more ethical or legal than selling water as chemo solution, or tic-tacs as Alzheimer's cures.
Just evil. |
 |
The School Of Supernatural Ministry
08/28/12, 19:03 They explicitly and literally say you no longer need to have faith, you can buy access to the keys of Heaven. If this were a parody, I'd call it over-the-top. |

The Leonard Horowitz and Joseph Goebbels Dial Tone
08/28/12, 01:00 I'm surprised he's got any audience for this fear-mongering when no one ever hears a dial tone anymore. Cell phones made them obsolete. The only people who'd hear it often are very old people who fear change and...

guy rolls away from shooting
08/25/12, 16:13 Well, I'm rolling and I haven't gotten shot yet. I guess it's working. Let's just keep on doing it! |

One day in the life of Julia's son
08/25/12, 16:08 Plus the example of how it's bad to have a female judge because an innocent father's rights were revoked, only applies because he's innocent. If it were a male judge declining it and he were guilty, you could have the opposite message. And of course they could reach the decision independent of their gender, the speaker just assumes otherwise.
There's no systemic argument against feminism here, it's just picking a worst case scenario and blaming women for it. |
 |
One day in the life of Julia's son
08/25/12, 15:25 Let's just assume that feminism equals single female parent. Now let's just assume that parent will be negligent and abusive. As you can see, I've proven feminism leads to bad parenting.
Let's just assume feminism leads to female teachers (rather than more equal representation in underpaid jobs). This obviously means that boys won't learn and will get bad grades because they need to run around while learning, and girls don't.
He will be forced to play volleyball, as opposed to the archery he so needs as a male, because of the female tyranny (and not because one involves giving kids a ball, and the other involves deadly weapons).
Up next: How allowing women to work as pilots is responsible for bad in-flight movies and the snoring guy next to you with no personal boundaries. |

Sex House Ep 7 - Sex In A Bottle
08/23/12, 20:20 "To call this place evil, implies a clarity of purpose that I do not want to attribute to anyone involved." |

Todd Akin on Mike Huckabee 8-20-2012
08/23/12, 16:06 If you aren't a young Christian virgin girl who was beaten and held down by a pack of minorities, it's not real rape.
These are the same people who absolutely deny there can be such a thing as marital rape. |

Zig Ziglar Why is Your Faith So Important?
08/23/12, 15:54 Sigh...
Yup, that's the message of Jesus alright. You should publicly proclaim your faith in order to receive fame and financial benefits from the majority. It's why he was such a big fan of the Pharisees. |

Catholic Government
08/21/12, 20:21 Being a moron doesn't make you suddenly not Catholic. He's just advocating a return to how the Church operated throughout the Dark Ages. |
