Obama Roasts McCain

Letterman hasn't been this funny in years.
Obama Roasts McCain

His comedic timing could use some work, but he gets all the bonus points in the world for taking on every single controversial issue head-first without cringing.

Even more bonus points for the nerdy Superman references.

I just submitted the Frontline Documentary, so please Vote Up. Simon666 is right about its significance and it helps balance out the negative and spin in order to portray the most important values of the candidates.

Honestly, if voters in one day were just shown this documentary, read "The Audacity of Hope" and "Faith of out Fathers", browsed the candidates websites, and heard the convention speeches, that one day could easily replace our whole election cycle, and leave voters better informed than they are now.

Oh, and Target Decoy is broken is how overpowered it is. I refuse to use it on principle, but its great if you are stuck.

Exploding barrels and grenades are a quick fix, with electric attacks to stun in between.

The first time you fight a Big Daddy is one of my favorite videogame moments ever. Requires skill and strategy, along with being scary and fun. Its just too bad that every Big Daddy after that is a cakewalk.

...sure, because who wants to hear what they actually talked about.

Not that we didn't know it was coming.... but still awesome.

I guess I'm off to go replay Bioshock for the 10th time.
The third and final of the Presidential debates (Obama Vs. McCain, 2008)
10/16/08, 17:18

This was the best of the debates, and certainly the best moderated. Although both candidates equivocated on the specifics of spending cuts and the future of the economy, the differences in their Medicare, tax, and education plans were spelled out. And although I'd consider Ayers and abortion distractions from the real issues, they were dealt with clearly and in a mature fashion.

However...their opening statements spelled out what the debate was really about:
Obama spoke of history, reached for bipartisanship, and spoke of specific bills to be passed in the months ahead.
McCain spoke of pain, anger, and blame, and mentioned only a giveaway plan unlikely to pass.

One of those guys is readying himself for the Presidency, and the other is trying to accept that he's lost it.

Ronald Martin would have earned five by himself, Freudian stuttering is a cherry on top.

"You're a cunt-cunt-continual source of inspiration!"
ZERO?!

Its amazing that this wasn't even McCain's worst moment.

For that I'd go with a tie between his putting a mother's "health" in airquotes when talking about abortion (yeah, fuck those pregnant endangered mothers!) and his hilarious pivot:

"It's not the fact that Senator Obama chooses to associate with a guy who in 2001 said that he wished he had have bombed more, and he had a long association with him. It's the fact that all the -- all of the details need to be known about Senator Obama's relationship with them and with ACORN and the American people will make a judgment.

And my campaign is about getting this economy back on track, about creating jobs, about a brighter future for America. And that's what my campaign is about"
Daily Show on McCain's New Stump Speech
10/15/08, 18:22

Politico said that McCain "won the day" that day.

This was despite the fact McCain was humiliated that day by their last-second decision not to unveil a plan due to campaign divisions, followed by Obama promptly announcing his. Despite a fresh batch of polls increasing Obama's leads in the battlegrounds. Despite more conservatives such as Christopher Buckley endorsing Obama. Despite his Virginia GOP chair comparing Obama to Bin Ladin in front of a Times reporter, and another case of a supporter shouting out "Kill him" about Obama at a McCain rally. Despite being mocked after leaks indicated his new middle-class focused plan centered on cuts to capitol gains taxes. Despite his latest stunt falling flat and being mostly ignored.

Why do they think he won? Because McCain managed to "dominate the news cycle".

Hank Williams Jr. sings McCain-Palin Tradition
10/15/08, 15:40

You know, even aside from the lyrics, he's a terrible singer.

"How can you be so smart and savvy
and such a, Hey!, good-looking dish"

But of course its demanding that a potential President be able to answer policy questions that's real sexism.

I watch Survivorman. I've learned Gun-kata from watching Equilibrium and Trigun. I've seen Waterworld, Last of the Mohicans, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse like 20 times each. And I've stocked up on Twinkies and Pringles. So yeah, when shit hits the fan, I'm going to be set.
Rachel Maddow on Palin: 'She's a liar.'

On the other hand, try to find a non-pundit "reporter" who will actually call a person a liar when they, ya know, lie. They sure aren't doing it now.
Barack Obama: Too Much Pie For One Guy
10/14/08, 08:55

Now that he knows he's got this election locked up, he's just messing around.

Expect for the debate on Wednesday to consist of Obama doing Pacino impressions and making "yo mamma' jokes at McCain until he gets bored and leaves on a Harley.

Bill Kristol on John McCain's performance
10/12/08, 23:16

Its not even a stopped clock. Kristol and others advised the negative tactics and cheered the stupid mistakes the campaign made. More and more GOP candidates now (including those also working as part of the campaign) are now not just hiding from Bush visits, but McCain as well.

They're rats deserting a sinking ship, burning the gangplank so as to make sure they don't get blamed when it finally goes under.
