The Brave and the Bold - Wonder Woman

I'm not entirely clear on why that missile flew itself into a mountain when they just said it was programmed to kill world leaders, but okay.
Batman: Arkham City - Penguin Trailer

If it were a posh British accent it would be fine, as just the Penguin putting on airs. A cockney accent is just weird.

It unfortunately looks like they're repeating the mistakes of the last game, where the stealth was excellent, but the supposedly climactic moments ended up being "Fight a hundred henchmen, fight a big 'charge, dodge, hit the back' enemy, then just a cutscene for the real boss". I really hope they don't do that.
Alex Jones asks David Gergen about Bohemian Grove Rituals
07/23/11, 21:45

The actual experience is described in Jon Ronson's book "THEM: Adventures with Extremists." It is a brilliant and hilarious book I strongly recommend, along with his other book "The Men Who Stare At Goats".

Basically the Bohemian Grove is a big frat party for Ivy League educated well-connected men. They sings songs, dress in drag and pee outdoors while getting incredibly pissed. The author spends his time chatting to people and thinking it's immature but mostly harmless, while Alex freaks out over every Owl he sees and attributes it all to demons and aliens.

Please stick around to the end. Because yes, that scene is supposed to be exactly what it looks like.
Maggie Simpson as Howard Roark
07/22/11, 19:44

Wait... wasn't Maggie's first adventure her socialist revolution against the "Ayn Rand School for Tots", where she liberated the suckers and distributed them to all?

Actually if the current Simpsons writers had never seen the early episodes, it would explain a lot. Like the ability to sleep at night.

I'm unclear what she intended to do. "No, let me keep him! I'll force him to confess, at which point... I'll have to hand him over, he'll ask for a lawyer, and his prior confession will be useless. Never mind."

That just gets us to the question of why Wonder Woman didn't do more good for the world by replacing our judicial and election systems with the rope of truth, instead of her usual use as just a regular lasso. Hell, even just use it in death penalty cases. But that way madness lies.

It's unnecessary, as it applies to every video ever posted, except those involving Dane Cook.
ONN: Thousands of Girls Match Description of Missing Sorority Sister

I didn't catch the first time that both interviews were conducted with the same girl, wearing different clothes.

Creation Science College Class 103: Dinosaurs and the Bible
07/22/11, 12:06

That's a really interesting verse to start with. Since Jesus is claiming that salt can loose it's savor, a commonly held belief at the time which in unambiguously scientifically wrong. Even in metaphorical terms, its point is to call less-than-devout Christians worthless.

I just watched enough to see that his first point is "The US has tried to ban the teaching of evolution, but not the teaching of creationism." As if it's a point in his favor that science embraces free speech and the creationism fears it.

Who are the four people in the audience, and how drunk are they?

I don't see Wonder Woman, I see stripper Scorpion.

Faith Healing Academy
07/21/11, 21:50

Is there any branch of Christianity that doesn't reinterpret and add new practices? There wasn't even a Church in Jesus' time, so I don't know how any organized faith could claim not to.

The nuttiest groups aren't the ones that stray from the Bible, they're the ones that take it literally.

I'm fairly certain that he's joking, but then some of the comments think he's bang on, so stars regardless.
Faith Healing Academy

The scene with the wheelchair guy really pissed me off. Faith healers exploit people's vulnerability (telling that man you can make him walk when you can't is just cruel and sick) and often place people in medical danger. They only report those who happen to get better and either ignore all the rest, or make them feel guilty and sinful for the healer's own broken promises, turning misfortune into blame.

It's a con game run for power and control that's been going on for millennia, and the fact that he may have deliberately closed his eyes to the possibility of being wrong doesn't make it less evil.
Faith Healing Academy

"I feel like, he could do anything."

Really? Because I feel like he could lead a cult. Those last lines "Do you need healing...?I feel like you have hurt spots...? Maybe your neck or...?" are classic John Edwards-style cold reading. In fact you could just change the setting and it would be indistinguishable from tribal witch-doctors in anthropology videos.

The Question is a bit creepy.
