Kitten attempts a jump
08/04/10, 17:16 Makes sense. If I invented an artificial gravity machine, I'd use it to mess with cats too.

In Memorium of Caminante Nocturno's recent suspension
08/04/10, 16:44 The hell with internet drama, all I need to know is this:
What the hell does Abraham Lincoln have to do with pre-teen lesbian sexual fantasies?

Zoidberg plays with his slinky.
08/03/10, 14:10 Based on the Zoidberg episodes, I'd say that's a good thing. He's best used in small regular doses. |

Truck accident that killed rafters in canyon sparks truck-canyon-rafter reform debate
07/17/10, 01:27 Wow. This one was both humorously acted and relevant to current oil, regulatory and media screw-ups, and yet it disappeared from the front page with one vote and no comments.
Damn you Onion News! Why must corporate subsidized satire receive far less credit that ideologically produced homegrown satire? |

A clip from The Last Airbender (2010)
07/16/10, 20:33 The movie's one redeeming quality is that if got me to watch the TV show. I started two weeks ago, and plan on seeing the finale tonight. More than once it struck me that the writing was up to par with some of the best TV shows I can think of, especially the way they carefully plotted three seasons of epic fantasy to focus on character development. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it streamed from Netflix, as they give away free monthly subscriptions all over the place. |

A clip from The Last Airbender (2010)
07/16/10, 16:41 I swear, I thought this was a theater group's home production of Avatar until the special effects started. At which point it was upgraded to "unlicensed South American DVD release" quality.
I can't think of a single aspect of cinema that this short scene doesn't completely mangle. |

Kill the Ground Zero Mosque TV Ad
07/16/10, 15:44 Why would Muslims even think this is a good idea in the first place?
Muslim1: "Hey terrorists murdered thousands of innocents to turn our faith toward radicalism and spark holy war. What's the best way to stop them?"
Muslim2: "Ive got three words for you: Ground. Zero. Mosque. What better way to show that modern Islam is part of American values, and not an incompatible violent screed like Bin Ladin suggests."
Muslim1: "But what about the racist dickheads who'll ignore the peaceful anti-jihadist goals of the group, and simply lump all Muslims together as if there were no such thing as white Christian terrorists?
Muslim2: "Fuck 'em. All it'll do is put the violent fundamental bigots who promote radicalism and holy war on one side against those of us who fighting for peace and tolerance." |

The Expendables: Fan Trailer
07/14/10, 15:40 And yet, the trailer is now unavailable on YouTube due to a copyright claim by the "Motion Picture Association".
I'm sure its just a matter of time before more copies are posted, so that people can do the marketing departments jobs for them, despite their best efforts to alienate fans. |

Mel Gibson and Christian Bale have a civil discussion
07/13/10, 21:43 Maybe this is all an elaborate plot by Warner Brothers to make Christian Bale look better before the next Batman movie is released. |

Simon Tam, M.D.
07/13/10, 19:06 Sean Maher never quite fit in Firefly. He's the only character who could have died without me blinking an eyelid.
If you'll excuse me, my three fans are clamoring for updates to my epic 13 part alterverse Shepard Book fanfic "Without A Prayer", where Book survives, and crosses universes into Speaker for the Dead and Cowboy Bebop.

The Homeschool Channel.
07/10/10, 14:41 Makes sense, since they seem to be proposing, not Education including Christianity, or Christian-based Education, but rather teaching religion as opposed to an education. |
 |
The Homeschool Channel.
07/10/10, 14:32 I turned it on, and I immediately I heard the pastor warn parents: "We worship the God of Education, not the God of the Bible."
It took less than 20 seconds to hear education condemned on a homeschooling channel. Good lord. |

EZ Cracker Infomercial.
07/10/10, 11:00 The only actual use this thing could have, is quickly peeling hardboiled eggs. However, every time they "demonstrate" that use, they do a quick cut from the crack, to the finished product. Its the only time in the ad they do so. In other words out of its two uses, one is pointless and the other doesn't work. |

Richard Dawkins on the Oreilly Factor
07/10/10, 10:13 Funny, I looked at all the posts above, and the only direct word of praise was "Also, go Dawkins". Which doesn't sound much like religious worship to me.
It's almost like you presumed anyone saying something positive about Dawkins was an atheist and as such spouted your talking point, but didn't bother paying attention to what was actually said. Which sounds downright... indoctrinated |
