11/21/12, 19:12 "All of your spiritual needs will be met by our churches!"
We also have both kinds of music, country and western. | | Big Bird Sings at Henson's Funeral
11/17/12, 03:53 People helped Big Bird off stage, after he tearfully said his musical goodbye to Kermit, in a song about how being different isn't easy, but it's still beautiful.
I know objectively it was to help a man in a costume off-stage, but aside from personal tragedy, that's the closest you can get to a gut-punch in the soul. | | Extras - Daniel Radcliffe and Dame Diana Rigg
11/17/12, 03:45 This is making fun of his perception as "trying to get away from HP", not playing into it.
I seriously doubt he'd have input into the show as to his portrayal, and if he had, I doubt he'd cast himself as a pervy, virgin, illiterate.
Also it was funny. | | The Amazing Atheist in 20 Seconds
11/17/12, 03:29 Which is far less embarrassing than this clip. | | The Amazing Atheist in 20 Seconds
11/17/12, 03:23 No, 'real' atheists do like this guy. Because just like 'real' religious people, people's labels don't tell you their character (although their beliefs can influence it). There are assholes in all cultures and sects, religious and non-religious.
And there are even assholes who reject the harmful and self-centered superstitions and dogma of religions, then adopt godless superstitions and dogma. We call them 'Randians'.
Having agreed with some of what he said in the past isn't embarrassing. But those people who deny his awful, narcissitic douchebaggery now to defend someone who agrees with them, are making the same type of mistake as people who deny the abuses of the Catholic church. Or Randians. Because seriously, fuck Ayn Rand. | | Republicans must stay true to their beliefs
11/16/12, 17:51 Bear in mind that the people in talk radio and conservative media are way more successful when their base loses elections and is pissed at liberal policies, than when they win elections and have to govern. Tacking hard right is bad for the GOP, good for them.
Some GOP Congressmembers would like to actually get shit done, like immigration and tax reform (it helps their big business owners), but for people like Ingraham, O'Reilly, Beck and Limbaugh, they make way more money scaring people about the liberal anti-Christs soon coming to round them into death-camps, than they do when they have to explain to their base that we can't just deport all brown people and pay no taxes, sometimes democracy involves interests other their their own and compromise. And no, taking away welfare from minorities and getting rid of Planned Parenthood doesn't fix the budget, the biggest costs are the wars you supported and the Social Security and Medicare you feel entitled to and the tax cuts going to the Tea Party spokespeople on your TV, but not it's members. | | Mitt Romney: Obama Won Because Of 'BIG GIFTS' To Blacks, Hispanics
11/15/12, 23:50 They're just going back to what worked before. Let Rush, Coulter and Fox say the nasty stuff, and let the political leadership use that hate with dog-whistles and coded phrases.
When the Tea Party surged in enthusiasm and Glenn Beck was the face of the movement, they thought it was okay to be honest since the country was on their side. They kinda forget that blatant racism, homophobia and sexism is a great way to motivate minorities, tolerant people, and women to go vote. | | Mitt Romney: Obama Won Because Of 'BIG GIFTS' To Blacks, Hispanics
11/15/12, 23:46 Only rich white *straight Christian* (for a given value) dudes deserve big gifts. | | Brian Williams reporting on the Trump twitter feed 11/06/2012.
11/08/12, 21:46 Poor man's just gone crazy. That editorial is from someone living in a fearful religious delusion. It's tragic considering some of his works were great at building a secular spirituality, and treating religion as an important product of human nature, not a literal truth from on-high. His views have devolved to be unrecognizable.
He wrote a retelling of Hamlet recently in which gays are pedophiles, and they turn kids gay by raping them. Which causes suicide and depression for life. I strongly suspect from this that either he or someone he knows was abused, and it's fueling his unbridled bigotry against all homosexuals. Along with Fox News and the Mormon Church of course.
Honestly, I think I'd rather be dead that reach that stage where my personality, my soul, is consumed by such angry and frightened delusions. Alzheimers looks cheerful by comparison. | | Fox investigates VOTER INTIMIDATION.
11/08/12, 02:31 Oh, the whole statement is worse:
“The white establishment is now the minority. And the voters, many of them, feel that the economic system is stacked against them and they want stuff. You are going to see a tremendous Hispanic vote for President Obama. Overwhelming black vote for President Obama. And women will probably break President Obama's way. People feel that they are entitled to things and which candidate, between the two, is going to give them things? The demographics are changing. It’s not a traditional America anymore.”
So, women and minorities are entitled moochers who only vote for Obama because he'll give them welfare. White men are the last bastion of responsibility, and as they lose their position of privilege, America falls. Just a more blunt version of Mitt Romney's 47% remarks, and what's driving the remains of the GOP. There's a reason right wing media (and just them) were obsessed for the last few months of a YouTube video of an uneducated black woman claiming she's voting for Obama because he gave her a free phone. That's their constructed reality for why everyone not them, supports him. | | Louis CK is Abraham Lincoln
11/08/12, 01:57 I think they're sometimes funny, which was true of other great sketch shows. Sure they don't have the incredible hits of Mr. Show, KitH or Chappelle, but that's what happens when you run for decades rather than a few years of your best ideas.
That said, this sketch is great because it's basically just 4 minutes of Louis' show with a beard and hat, not SNL. | | Richard Mourdock cries after getting raped in the election
11/07/12, 20:13 Rush was complaining that they lost the election because they weren't the majority. Fox spent their time complaining that their policies favoring rich white men weren't supported by women and minorities.
As if it wasn't obvious from all their 'real America' nonsense that they feel entitled to impose their will, rather than earning it. | | Shrieking White-Hot Sphere Of Pure Rage Early GOP Front-Runner For 2016
11/07/12, 20:10 But Newt Gingrich can't be his own Vice-President. | | 'The White Establishment Is Now The Minority' - Bill O'Reilly
11/07/12, 14:47 Dick Morris, the shyster pollster who was predicting Romney landslides until the last minute, has a book coming out soon called "Here Come the Black Helicopters!".
If anything I expect their fantasies to get even more creative. I'm pretty cynical, but I'm still flabbergasted how in this election people like NOM and the NRA were peddling the same forced abortions and gay marriages while taking away guns and giving them to black people nonsense, that they did four years ago... and people still believe them. It's one thing to hate the things Obama does, it's another to hate him for things he's going to do, after four years of him clearly not being interested in it. | | 'The White Establishment Is Now The Minority' - Bill O'Reilly
11/07/12, 14:43 There's a reason the video clip of Romney damaged him. Because he said exactly what the GOP thinks. Half the country (women and minorities mostly) are lazy entitled moochers who only vote Democrat to take stuff from rich people. And white people (like Mitt Romney) would have it far easier if they were minorities.
And the media is biased against them, so much so they have to take polls (which turned out accurate) and skew them toward Romney with no factual basis, and put them on a site called "unskewed polls". It's like they're my senile grandpa, getting increasingly bitter and fearful at a changing society and everyone different because he's stuck in front of Fox News all day.
Oh wait, that's exactly what's happening. | | 'The White Establishment Is Now The Minority' - Bill O'Reilly
11/07/12, 14:38 Keep Government out of my Medicare! - a real sign at Tea Party rallies. | | Fox investigates VOTER INTIMIDATION.
11/06/12, 18:32 The black man in a beret holding open a door is voter intimidation, while the armed white man challenging the voting eligibility of non-whites and those with an accent before you vote from underneath the cross in the church, is just how American voting should work.
The day of the election, and there's been mass robocalls in Florida telling voters the election is tomorrow, turning away registered voters at the polls and telling them they can't vote, a poll workers been caught changing ballots to Republican, and a machine's been recorded automatically switching Obama votes to Romney.
It's just fucking ridiculous that people aren't more outraged over this. If Obama wins today, it's only because his lead was so great that Republicans figured they couldn't get away with stealing the election by denying or switching as many Democratic votes as they needed. | | Randall Terry, not being racist
10/22/12, 01:24 The guy who's repeatedly said the Presidents policies justify people trying to kill him, tells the President he needs to get down to Nashville (where he notes people are of a different color skin), for no explained reason.
I'm sure it's just to share some barbecue. | | Louis Theroux - A Place for Pedophiles
10/21/12, 17:49 That's not a cure. Many rape and child abuses cases (some psychologists say most) aren't motivated by sexual lust in itself, but desires for power and dominance or other psychological impulses. Or as I've heard it said, many abusers usually don't rape and abuse because they're aroused, they're aroused by the rape and abuse. | | Food Fight (2012) streaming 24/7
10/21/12, 16:50 If you're an actor who demands to be taken seriously after doing crap like this, you deserve to be mocked.
On the other hand if you're like Christopher Lloyd who clearly doesn't care, I don't think it reflects poorly on him to accept paychecks from people making crap which is paid for by exploiting fast food companies product placement. As long as it's not bigoted or funding child brothels, who cares? | |
