It is one of my biggest frustrations in English that there is no appropriate term for this. In Spanish we have "pena ajena", which roughly translates into "shame not of oneself" or "impersonal shame", as "pena" = "shame" and "ajeno(a)" = "not having to do with the subject (of the sentence)". |

Now, I myself am homosexual (or at least would be were it not for the fact that I am first and foremost and overwhelmingly a misanthrope who would much rather defenestrate somebody than be intimate with them.), and still I find this to be banal and pointless.
Oh, sure, this would be grand if both, in the video, would claim that they were hetero... but since that is neither explicit nor implied, I can only award my imagination the appropriate points. I will, however, begrudge it an extra star just for A Flaming Monkey's comment. |
