Shangai McNuggets 1980's TV Ad
04/17/09, 04:39 I can just imagine the horrified expression on the marketing people who eventually produced this gem.
"We need to make an ad for three sauces and chopsticks? What, are you TRYING to set this up for failure?"
Nice to not have any of there more recent marketing slogans, though. |

Rachel Maddow's National Teabagging Day Recap
04/17/09, 01:58 "The irony of these protests is that federal revenues as a share of the gross domestic product will be lower this year than any year since 1950. ... The truth is that the U.S. is a relatively low-tax country no matter how you slice the data." - Bruce Bartlett, Fortune Magazine analyst

Rachel Maddow's National Teabagging Day Recap
04/17/09, 01:58 I don't trust Maddow to get her facts straight, considering that MSNBC (Or at least Maddow and Olbermann) are unabashed liberals. I also don't trust her comparing protest numbers to sporting events, and other non-political gatherings. I Would have liked to have seen them compared to other protests, preferably during the ramp-up to the Iraq War. (As opposed to later, when more Americans were catching on when the War was a bad idea- in short, nascent protests before wide spread unpopularity.)
Here's some better numbers.
5000 in Sacramento CA were Teabagging.
50000 to 60000 in LA for anti-war protests. ( I was unable to find numbers for an anti-war protest in Sacramento, or a tea bag protest in LA. Population of the two cities is vastly in favor of LA.)
I am aware that this may not be the most useful comparison - I would like to think more people are strongly opposed to war then taxes. If someone can think of a more useful comparison, I would love to see it.

Flaming Bacon Lance!
04/16/09, 04:02 Less than impressive, since the flammabiity does not come from bacon, but rather an external source. |

Billy Mays orders fast food
04/15/09, 21:17 I am not sure to rate this high for self-parody, or rate this really low for my undying, eternal hatred of Billy Mays. I have chosen the middle ground. |
