The true issues are not important in a political ad. It's a cheap jab designed to sting, and it's very time-sensitive. All the stuff you're talking about has come and gone, everybody is already aware of these things. An ad detailing them would be seen as beating a dead horse, and it would be a fizzle of a reason to sacrifice the supposed 'high ground'.
This wasn't about McCain's age at all. It was about the implication that he had SO MANY HOUSES he couldn't even remember the number. |
