I'm not as quick as you guys are, so it took me some time to realize that the book she was reading was one she wrote herself.
So, allow me to post my favorite excerpt from the free preview of "Dreams Happen" in hopes that I can redeem myself:
Lindsey and I got off the bus watching as the girls went into the school. I walked to my locker inside with Lindsey not even realizing that Steven was walking not too far behind me. We reached our lockers, and Lindsey and I slowly opened them watching as Steven strolled by us with a group of guys. “Oh, I wish I could just reach out and touch him.” And so I did. I grabbed his shirt, ripping it in the back. I couldn’t believe what I had done. I tore Stevens’s silk shirt. Steven and his friends stared at me in silence. We could have cut glass with the tension in the hallway.
“What was that for?” Steven questioned me upset by the fact that I tore his shirt.
“I’m sorry. I thought I saw a bug on you. I tried to get it off.”
“This was my favorite shirt. Now what am I supposed to do?”
“Well, I can sew it for you if you want.”
He stood in front of me holding the rip in his shirt staring at me. “Yeah, like I’m going to trust you after you ripped my favorite shirt.” |

I just knew there was more to this story that he wasn't telling us, and the link Sean_Robinson supplied confirms it.
But I don't follow Dwayne that much, so I'm a little surprised of his use of the word "eugenics". I don't believe it means what he thinks it means.
Unless getting mad at somebody for skipping out on the workout schedule means that he believes in eugenics. |
