Liu Qian does some coin tricks

Mostly there but... the guy hunched over the table with one hand out of view is not just there to hold the cup.

It's still pretty great.
Man attempts to assassinate Obama, 'but not because he's black or anything'
04/06/10, 22:54

Guys, I don't hate all sketch comedy, just Onion sketch comedy. It's not a stereotype thing, I even totally shook Jorma Taccone's hand.
THE INTERNET EXPLAINED!

Wait, Bobby's trapped in my router?
Welcome to Lafayette Indiana you suck ass bastard

Although to be fair I've only even been in one when it was crawling with hippies so, maybe not the best time.

They're like that at all of them.
'News News' - From the folks who brought you 'For the Record'

Best part of this is the instructions on the top about how to use the internet.
Seth MacFarlane's Secret
04/06/10, 22:24

Even MacFarlane gets a pass for his sitcom set-ups. For as long as there have been sitcoms they've been just a means to an end, and only sturdy enough so that someone can walk on screen without you saying, "who's that?"
Bill Maher New Rules - 03/26/10
04/06/10, 22:19

I like that Bill Maher pisses off who he pisses off, but that's about it. I can't take the cheerleading. Maybe I'm overly sensitive to it; even Franken's gets on my nerves.
Hospital Food, Who Says It All Taste Bad

That's why they call it "South" Korea, because of the pizza!
George Takei: Queer the Census

That comment is never getting topped, ever.

Bad choice of words. I don't mean they edited it, I mean that, at the very least, the host can see what's going on. This trick is better done for a videotape or a large crowd than someone in the room.

It's all just too big. For those of us who can catch the occasional glimpse of just how big, the choice is between wonderment and despair. 5 for Sagan & wonderment.
The Future of Gaming

I'm with TSR here. Granted, you've gotta have money to make money but, yeah. Societies already reinforce behavior in creepy ways, throwing Mario sounds into it won't change much.

Maybe I'm giving the video a little too much credit, but it reminds me a lot of One-Dimensional Man, specifically the idea of false needs.

Something tells me he's not really an expert on what makes good pizza. Don't they put gravy on it in the South? I bet they do. And Kraft singles.

So many thoughts, maybe I'm crazy too.
- part of what prevents this is that the people who would enjoy it would rather get their grinding fix from a fictional game. Why mess around with toiletries when you can raid dungeons or whatever?
- He mentions people improving themselves because of surveillance. Assuming the surveillance happens, maybe people just stop judging each other so much? All those drunk FB pics aren't going to keep kids from getting jobs. People are just going to stop giving a shit about it, because nobody benefits. Game theory, anyone?
- He has no idea what computing resources this would take. WOW has how many people on it? Certainly not 300 million, certainly not 24/7. Saying "yeah but computers will get faster" doesn't mean shit when the problem scales that large.
- If this comes to pass, what will happen is that the people who waste their time on it will just hold themselves back. It'll be a form of OCD. If you want to move up in the world, you'll have to learn to ignore it.

Exactly. Anyone who think at least the first half of this is not going to happen doesn't understand advertising math. The toothbrush thing is something that I'm surprised doesn't already exist. How is it that different from a Withings scale?

A million stars for the end.

Also if you drop a bottle of shitty vodka, it's no harm no foul. If it's so bad it comes in a plastic bottle, even better!
