For the Record - Gay Part 2: Gay Harder
02/26/10, 00:54 How could anybody dislike Sagan?
Maybe I just caught some bad segments, but I felt like it was really talking down to me. I won't run away if they actually get into the details of the research methods. There was a recent one called "Numbers" where the guy mentioned logarithms and they all went OOH SCARY or something like that. I dunno, I'm not above giving it another shot. |

Final Placement - Endless Guitar Solo
02/25/10, 18:17 This prompted me to look up the entire song. It's amazing. |

TFL Bill - Hello Again Ok Here in This Video
02/25/10, 18:01 "Here in this video: Obama" is better if you imagine that Bill has the budget to bring the president in and he sits down on Bill's crusty bed for an interview. |

02/25/10, 17:44 ugh. nevermind. |

02/25/10, 17:43 phalsebob: I'll get started on the urbandictionary entry for "golden oreo" if you promise to start using it in casual conversation |

For the Record - Gay Part 2: Gay Harder
02/25/10, 17:42 I'm actually surprised he was able to mention handicapped people without immediately complaining about how there are too many handicapped spots in parking lots these days and nobody's using all of them.
This is progress, though it may not feel like it sometimes. |

For the Record - Gay Part 2: Gay Harder
02/25/10, 17:35 On that note: I know that I say a lot of anti-theist/internet tough guy stuff, but it's usually provoked by videos like this one. Most of the people I know are somewhat religious (obviously), and some are extremely religious, but we get along just fine. I know better than to bring up religion with people when I have such a minority stance on it.
I don't dislike Christians, here or anywhere else, despite jokes to the contrary. The fact that my username (a lame pop culture joke) has religious implications is an unfortunate coincidence. |

For the Record - Gay Part 2: Gay Harder
02/25/10, 17:30 He didn't say genetic link, he said gay gene. You will notice that this moves the goalpost to a place where no one that understand genetics is willing to go.
On that particular point, I can't say I blame him. If anything is an abomination, it's the way science gets reported in the news (even shit like Radiolab... it bothers me how no one expects their audience to care about research if they don't sex it up first). |

Fox News desperately spins the Ron Paul CPAC poll, dismisses importance of 'young people'
02/25/10, 16:53 I think they were wondering the same thing. |

For the Record: Predictions for 2010
02/25/10, 16:51 Such people are naturally hateful, it just gets multiplied by the assumption that their hate is endorsed by the creator of the whole universe.
And it's cliche, but I can't help assuming when I see this stuff that they "protest too much." |

For the Record: Predictions for 2010
02/24/10, 22:52 I have really developed a taste for the bitter tears of these people, and my god I hope I get the full 8 years of it. |

The Valet
02/24/10, 22:44 Her face at 1:27.
And yeah, she's pretty funny, as long as it's standup or stuff like this and not sitcoms. |

For the Record: Predictions for 2010
02/24/10, 22:36 The thing that keeps me from really hating Beck is that you can see in his eyes how much fun he's having with the whole thing.
I don't get that from this one. |

Fox News desperately spins the Ron Paul CPAC poll, dismisses importance of 'young people'
02/24/10, 22:23 Romney won last year and let's just say that people weren't quite as interested in what constitutes a scientific poll or not. |

Fox News desperately spins the Ron Paul CPAC poll, dismisses importance of 'young people'
02/24/10, 22:22 The only sense in which the "spirit of the tea parties is not the spirit of Ron Paul" is that neither thinks the other is radical enough.
I'm surprised that Fox News is even covering it. Lately they've taken to having embarrassing news delivered over satellite by a no-name hunched in a darkened room, apologizing for how they don't have all of the details. |

Forgotten Worlds-- 'You cannot defeat me with paramecium alone'
