That always bothers me the most too. They're only pissed that there isn't mandatory prayer. Which would be against the law. We all pay for the education system, if you want to send your kids to Bible camp you have to pay for that yourself.
I'm cool with the kids praying for stricter enforcement of Title IX though. |

Her voice is very different and I will admit that it took me some getting used to. When Milk-Eyed Mender came out I didn't give it a second listen. But the songs & orchestration on Ys kept me coming back and then I went back and really enjoyed Mender too.
I really hope everyone (ever) gives "Emily" from Ys a fair shake. It's one of the best things I've heard in years and that's not exaggerating. |

I love Joanna Newsom for a variety of reasons, including being awesome, working with Van Dyke Parks (who is awesome), and working with Jim O'Rourke (who is awesome).
But perhaps the biggest reason is the title of her most recent EP: Joanna Newsom and the Ys Street Band.
