The Maxx - promo
05/20/09, 10:17 I wouldn't say that the filters aren't gone, but as production and distribution costs of just about every form of publishing have gone down, they have moved from being the responsibility of the publisher to being put on the reader, who will turn to technology (like a feed reader) or a social group (like social bookmarking).
This article is mostly about newspapers but it briefly talks about that. For anyone that cares:

Oh yeah, the Maxx fucking ruled. |

Jorma is a dick
05/19/09, 05:00 the lonely island is a comedy group and t-pain is a walking joke. in retrospect the collaboration was inevitable. |

Jorma is a dick
05/19/09, 04:57 i didn't know they added the sound, i thought he was really trying to play them off the stage. that changes it somewhat. |

Jorma is a dick
05/19/09, 04:54 i think they get pretty sure they get maybe a soundcheck and the rehearsal taping and that's it. i'm not sure.
as a musician i can say that i'd be pretty upset if someone was trying to distract me while i was in rehearsal for what will probably be the highest profile performance of my life.
and then "leak" it on youtube. he may as well put itching powder in their bras or something.
still, better than what they're doing on the air. why is that? |

Will Ferrell Sings Goodnight Saigon on SNL
05/18/09, 06:43 knives knives knives knives
Everything anybody needs to know about Billy Joel is pretty neatly summed up in that steaming pile of song.
I think Tiffany could have done a better job of doing a politically themed / heavily orchestrated 80s pop album.
He didn't even use real instruments. He just grew his ego to the point where new stretch marks started to appear all over his skin, and they recorded it in an LA studio and fed it to a hungry, tasteless, coked-up nation.
Fuck Billy Joel. |

President Obama: Notre Dame Commencement Speech
05/18/09, 06:28 And after what he said in Turkey, too.
"We don't consider ourselves Christian, Jewish, Muslim. We consider ourselves a nation bound by a set of ideals and values."
There was a real shitstorm of chest-beating at work after that comment was "reported" by FNC. I was hoping for a glimmer of understanding among people, but sadly found none. I can't remember a time when I was more proud to have someone as my president. The guy is unwilling to rewrite history to pander to a vocal and illogical minority. It's sad that someone saying shit that's NORMAL is cause for celebration, but there you go.
Not that Bush was pretending for the public's sake. He traded liquor for God, and you can take that statement to be as negative as you wanna be. |

Commercial Codes and Birth Certificates in the New World Order
05/17/09, 17:57 Using random pics of Pope Benedict to creep people out is like picking the low-hanging fruit.
I think JP2 was good looking enough to soften the natural reaction that the crazy vestments cause but when I see Benedict I just think *omg secret rituals THEY MIGHT BE EATING PEOPLE*
and I was raised Catholic, even. |

05/15/09, 06:49 Webcams are proof that God loves this man, who wears lame sunglasses who puts other drivers at considerable risk, and wants him to be happy and pretend-angry. |
