I thought it was evil that it has to be said at all, and to a lesser extent that makeup scares me.
Adding to what Jericho said: on paper, calories are calories, but in reality people who care about the quality of their food end up eating less processed garbage and cooking more. I'm talking more about slow-food types, not the tater-tot vegetarians.
And AFAIK semolina is slightly less bad than bleached/enriched flour but maybe someone could clue me in there. |

I'll come right out and say it: supermarkets have ruined tomatoes.
I grew up in the suburbs and until a couple of years ago (other than my grandma's gardening) wasn't really exposed to heirloom plants. If you are in the same boat, you really owe it to yourself this summer to start shopping at the closest farmer's market, and get some veggies that are fresh, local, and in season, rather than the tasteless, mealy crap that gets shipped to the supermarket. |
