Actually, wrasslin' would be a lot better with ice giants as well.
Most pro sports could use ice giants, now that I think about it. The Winter Olympics would be vastly more entertaining, especially the figure skating. |

It's a broken narrative at best. The Jesus Project tried to ferret out which author said what, which Jesus is likely the same guy, etc., but it's such a freaking mish-mash of other myths, legends, and tales that it's really like disjointed fanfic.
Not to mention the bible was assembled by committee, Revelations is totally out of sync with the rest of the chosen books, and a lot of the ones that were rejected seemed to have a lot more philosophy or at least interesting concepts than the ones the guys in robes and funny hats settled on. |

Except after you "win," you're still stuck with this giant military-industrial complex that demands (and gets) more and more money, in spite of the "threat" no longer existing. Then you've got the added expense of combat with people you'd been arming for decades solely on the basis that they were "against" your enemy.
Advancements are all well and good, but much like our subsidizing the oil industry, it's hard to definitively show we've broken even on blood, treasure, and security, much less come out ahead. |

The problem with the US/USSR competition was that it allowed for things like McCarthyism, the lies about "the missile gap," defense spending the likes of which wasn't seen until Iraq II and Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, and countless other wasteful, if not criminal, activities all done under the blanket of "defending America against Communism."
It's like saying the economy prospered under the Hatfields and McCoys because most people owned gun stores. |

So pretty much nobody in the 1%. These guys are skating by on more corporate welfare and far lower tax rates for their income (which they call "capital gains," which is bullshit) that they pretty much bought via their congressional ties, costing you more than all the people you hate combined. Not to mention they get tax breaks for sending jobs overseas, and they get bailed out when playing video poker with the stock market. They've also managed to trick people earning far less than 50k a year that if we lower their taxes even MORE and cut even MORE services, they'll finally have low enough taxes (which are currently on the 40th year of a downward slope) to "create jobs." And you keep claiming it's true in spite of real wages for the middle class dropping every single fucking year.
"Get a job. If thats not enough get two."
Oh, of course. Since minimum wage jobs offer salaries below the poverty line and there aren't enough of those to go around, either. It's so simple. Thanks for clearing it up for us. |

What's really sickening is the way the monied interests have this all lined up with their moronic voter supporters who would gladly piss away their own middle class lives if it meant they somehow thought the policies would hurt whoever they hated.
Let's presume we stopped all of the wars in an instant. We now have all that spending which COULD be put to services that would lift up the lowest, helping to maintain and eventually boost the economy. The wealthy/powerful/1%/whatever would cry, "oh, but those services cost money! Cuts! Cuts!"
Then those services fail because they can't operate effectively.
"See? We said social spending would never work! Kill it completely! Yay!" |
