Greg Duva: USA Petition to Reverse Roe v Wade
05/03/13, 19:33

From his description:

"This is a short piece based upon Rand Paul's recent mailing to USA citizens asking them to contact government representatives to vote/support a "Life at Conception" Act."

So he's a Paulbot. Figures.
'The Cardinal' - trailer
05/03/13, 10:45

It's more of a jester than a cardinal, I think. I mean, I can't see the Vatican letting someone dressed like that vote on the next Pope, and that's a haven for men in silly outfits.
Bioshock: Infinite - A wonderful living breathing world
05/03/13, 04:39

No, I'd rather they stop trying to make games prettier for a while and try to make them more engaging and interesting. Bioshock had more going for it from a shooting/strategy standpoint. You were fighting mutated drug addicts and hunting Big Daddies.

This one, you get Handymen attacking you whenever. The people decide to attack you suicidally because... religion? Really? And Booker feels SO bad about Wounded Knee that he has to cap at least ten people to get over it.

It's pretty, but it's closer to being a steampunk Call of Duty than being a game that has a good story to go with all the shooty stuff.

I wish we lived in a world where it wasn't just the poor and powerless that went to prison for doing awful things.

@fatatty: Chalk that one up to the "IT'S THE SAME PERSON" angle a lot of these obsessives have. You know the old saw that somewhere in the world, you have a twin? These guys take it to new heights, scouring facebook and doing Google image searches, trying to find people who bear even the slightest resemblance to those in mass shootings or other tragedies. If they come across something that, to them, is a match, then they've obviously found the ACTOR who can be EXPOSED!

This was on Showtime forever, before Krull and Beastmaster took over.

I don't think Mr. Nocturno's theory is quite bizarre enough for the Alex Jones crowd. Surely its more believable if you assert that the NWO agent kills the starlets first and then indulges in its necrophilliac tendencies, which has the added bonus of not accidentally impregnating the victim with reptilloid eggs.

True fact: The most popular minor role on a lot of cop procedurals is that of the corpse, so maybe.

It wouldn't matter. The Scooby Gang is hunting for clues, no matter how tenuous or implausible even by SyFy movie standards.

I'm genuinely curious if someone telling this guy about the legal use of "actor" in policework would have any effect greater than tossing a ping-pong ball at a brick wall.

Also of note, he said his previous channel is "under attack" or something, where this video got 50k+ views. It's still there, and this new one is the same username but it now has three sevens at the end of his name instead of two. With intellects like this against them, how can the illuminati prevail?

Evil, indeed. I was expecting something from "No Mutants Allowed."

I think it'd get even older after the fact that nobody has stretchmarks is outweighed (literally) by not being able to go back to Earth straight away thanks to zero-g effects on muscle and bone.
The world's oldest bra
05/01/13, 19:28

It's hard to tell if that's a thong or more like the bottom of a bikini where the strings are tied on each hip.

As for the point, there are several possibilities I can think of:

1. It's worn not for comfort, but to appeal to a spouse/lover. It's not like impractical clothing weren't all over the place (and still are today).
2. This medieval woman probably didn't toil or labor as much, or this was worn when she wasn't doing anything so strenuous. Not all medieval women were peasants.
3. Perhaps there were times where you weren't wearing loads of heavy gowns and wanted to have another layer for warmth or comfort. I could also see it being used as a means of controlling odor, especially if it was perfumed.

And it's nice to hear someone is teaching the disturbingly elderly women in our society. Though by now I'd almost call them zombies. Have you had them checked for that, by the way?

Maybe not. The Caves of Steel series by Isaac Asimov predict we Earthers will be kept in our megacities, prevented from going to any Spacer planets out of a concern for our disease-carrying and barbaric ways. In the end, though, we'll take those worlds back and more.

The interim will suck balls, but we should get positronic robots, making it kind of a wash.
Emperor: Battle for Dune - Harkonnen Intro FMV
05/01/13, 00:21

I'm not being sarcastic at all. From the Dune wiki:

"In his later years, the Baron's most notable feature was his corpulent frame. Vladimir's sheer weight required belt-mounted suspensors to retain mobility, which allowed him to float in midair from place to place, as he was unable to walk under his own power unassisted. The Baron's weight was attributed to a degenerative disease transmitted to him sexually by the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam."

I really disliked the miniseries for several reasons. Maybe the movie was over-the-top with the Harkonens, but the TV show had the fearsome Feyd first appear in a toga with a cardboard triangle behind his head held up by a stick coming out of his collar. The princess, who for some reason meets Paul when she shouldn't see him 'till he conquers Arrakis, shows up in a gown with butterflies glued to it, escorted by Sardaukar?!

The Dune movie had a better aesthetic and was more enjoyable overall. I thought the miniseries stupidly left out key scenes that were covered even in the limited time the movie had (Paul and his mother being taken to the desert in the ornithopter) and inserted ones that didn't come from the book and made no sense. Plus the polish of the show was uneven, the soundtrack aped the movie one whenever it could, and Alec Newman was a crappy, whiny Paul.

See, you said "Space-Branson" which made me think someone had launched a hillbilly musical theater into space from the Ozarks or something.

Why is it so surprising that they'd be shaped like modern bras? It's like when people see the ruins of Roman baths and marvel that toilet seats haven't changed shape for thousands of years.

It's not like the ancients had cube-shaped boobs and conical asses or anything...
