The comments are full of the worst reaction the GOP has when it loses. It's not that their candidates were nuts, favored the rich, have prehistoric beliefs about science and women, etc. It's the VOTERS that were stupid, lazy, immature, and so on.
It's like listening to a crappy musician going on about how it's not his work that sucks, it's that the rest of the world doesn't recognize his genius. |

I asked a rather popular webcartoonist who's done work for Marvel in the past how Liefeld keeps getting work. Apparently, he works well with editors (which seems to mean he doesn't swear at them unless he quits) and he cranks out a lot of crap and does so on time.
In comics, getting shit done before deadline seems to trump actually being good. |

The FX are still pretty cool, you have to love a dragon named "Vermithrax Pejorative," and it was the first Disney PG movie, which got them into a lot of trouble at the time. Several parents saw "Disney" on the posters and ignored the "PG" thing, and took their wee ones into a film where you got to see a princess's extremities being chewed off by baby dragons. |

Libertarians are like Communists, only not as good at stating a stable ideology. Both isms often point out the ills of our society quite well and stake out fairly defensible moral positions. However, they both suck balls at their "solutions" for them. Libertarianism is the idea that if football teams are cheating, the solution is to remove the referees. If corporations are doing evil and nasty things, less people trying to make them stop will naturally make them stop.
Libertarianism also has the lovely "States Rights" flavor of bullshit running through it. Hey, bigotry shouldn't be a federal thing! Let's remove all protections for minorities and laws that keep one religion from being elevated over another via public money and property! Surely the states won't do anything like make Christian rituals mandatory in schools, allow businesses to discriminate in hiring practices based on race, gender, or creed, or limit voting rights based on property ownership or something CRAZY like that, would they? Of course not, thanks to "natural" forces or some other quasi-religious drivel.
Was he against the war? Good for him. He's still naive, if not hypocritical, railing against wasteful spending and government handouts on one hand while accepting earmarks and disaster relief on the other. |

Too little too late. Jindal signed loads of crazy right-wing laws (creationism in science class? Jindal gives it a thumbs up!), so even if he is sincere, he was part of the loony-bin-bandwagon with the rest of them.
I heard a news report about that governor's conference. One gov said that the GOP was losing young voters because they were jobless and living at home which they thought was A GOOD THING BECAUSE THEY'RE LAZY. Then a lot of attendees maintained that the message of the party (kick out all brown people, the rich pay no taxes, tax the poor, no social spending, etc.) wasn't WRONG, it was just how it was PRESENTED. Fuck them and their stupid fucking racist corporatist xenophobic God-bothering party. |
