LocoCycle: Intro
11/26/13, 04:53

I remember some kind of demo reel for this game YEARS ago. I figured it just kind of died off somewhere.

And to be fair, I'm trying to think of a release that's coming out on these new consoles that isn't either crap or a re-hash of an existing franchise (Call of Duty) or a shinier version of already tired game formats (fightin', collecting stars, etc.). The ps4 looks to have just a little more variety, but not by much.

Meh. It looks like the game studios need to improve themselves, not the hardware providers. I'm just hoping these beefier consoles don't fuck up the next Fallout game the way they did the previous ones with their memory limitations.

Also, it's not unheard of for cartoons or other IPs to expect toys to be made and structure their designs accordingly.

Only three episodes? I recognized this from the preview image, so that must mean it either made a big impression on me or it got rerun ad nauseam by my local TV stations when I was a lad.

Seth MacFarlane kills a talking dog for you

A great many of us have been tired of Seth for years, including all of his Family Guy clone-shows.

On a personal note, I think animated programs can do well, but they have to stop aping sit-coms to be anything more than, well, sit-coms. The trouble is that's a "safe" setup that will usually bring in more ratings than, say, a Futurama or an Adventure Time, which at least tried something other than the tired old quirky family setup.

I love films like this because it's wonderful to note to those who long for "the good ol' days" that if their days were so good, why were these films even made?

I find it highly disturbing the Pentagon has a shrine to superstition of ANY kind.

Oh, yes, I saw the McGann short. It was a nice callback to the Brain of Morbius.

I don't mind a retcon, either, it's just that's almost all Moffat does these days. I mean, did everything from 2005 onward get changed, not happen, or what?

That's why they have the specially trained "emoting face" facilitators to demonstrate what emotion the TV producers think should be felt by those viewing. These are usually noted then quickly forgotten, however.
US Sovereign Citizens: Laws don't Apply to Me (January 9, 2013)
11/25/13, 03:38

Holy fuck, the comments are just mind-boggling.

One of the biggest blind spots for these idiots seems to be a lack of understanding as to why they can't do things without any kind of regulation. The comments have someone griping that he can't just go hunting for food because the FDA can't profit from putting food additives in wild game (or something like that). It never crosses his mind what would happen if limits on fishing and hunting suddenly went away and everyone decided to empty the rivers, lakes, and lands of whatever they decided to grab.

There's also a whackadoo comment about how WHITES were the original slaves in America and were bought from the Moors (read: ISLAMOFACISTS!). The delusional "history" and "news" these people get from who-knows-where make those right-wing fantasy audiobooks you find in truck stops look sane by comparison.
Tom Baker Wine & Dine Interview

While I liked the episode, it just left what remained of continuity a complete mess.

And while I sympathize with the previous Doctor actors and their frustration over not being put into the show again, including them all in anything but bit roles like Tom Baker's was out of the question. Especially Colin Baker, who hasn't aged particularly well.

Now I know why Japan is an island. They used to be connected to the mainland, but all the super-powers causing rocks to levitate when they'd transform must've eroded the coastline.
sovereign first encounter with cops

They're children: They want to be able to do whatever they want under any circumstances with no responsibility or inconvenience.

As for the whole concept of not having approved all of the laws one lives under, one didn't ask for paved roads, shelter, emergency services, electricity, water, food, or any of the other bajillion things that were provided under even some of the most repressive systems. They also have no idea what a true repressive tyranny even is or the fact that the very term "sovereign citizen" is a contradiction in terms, like "one-person crowd" or "legion of one dumbass."

Gmork's completely right. Guns by themselves are completely harmless, so I'm supposing he's for keeping them inanimate by not letting them near any working hands.

Also, calling people "retard" is his way of acknowledging unrequited parental nurturing that he hasn't found an appropriate substance habit for.

Woman Drowning in her SUV is Miraculously Saved
11/24/13, 00:54

Yes, "stereotype." Because NO news media outlet refers to anyone escaping from almost certain death as "miraculous" or "an act of God." You never see stories where people do amazingly brave or skilled things in large numbers to save a life which is then referred to as "a miracle."

It's so ingrained into the culture it's ridiculous. One child surviving a town-erasing tornado is called a "miracle" by every reporter who shows up. It's as grown-up as thanking Santa Claus for burning down every home in a city except one, and it often plays down tragedy as well as anyone who helped rescue someone or save a life (like surgeons, fire fighters, or in the case above, people helping get someone out of a sinking car).
Pantera Racisim Interview - Vinnie Paul and Phil Anselmo

Why wouldn't they? Lots of racists in the south hung out with black people. They seemed to like to watch them grow cotton and tidy the house and so on.
