I'm guessing that the whole "public hero" thing was also a holdover from comics like The Spirit and Dick Tracy, as Batman was largely seen as a detective. Criminals were just bank robbers and kidnappers, not psychos that threatened lives all that much.
It's one of the many things about Batman that's harder to swallow in this day and age, too: If he goes out on patrol every night, even with a ton of secret entrances and exits to the Batcave all over Gotham, someone would eventually find where he hangs out and who he is, probably inside of three months.
As far as I know, it's still canon that the JLA has teleportation tech. Why doesn't he just use that to get around, or at least to put his car/boat/plane away when he's done? |

Except you forget that what's pleasing in a Christian's eyes is what's usually what's pleasing in the Lord's eyes, if you "pray on it" enough.
It's a bit like the old "Love your neighbor as yourself" concept. That's great in theory, but it doesn't take into account what someone who loathes themselves is bound to do. |

Sounds like they actually spent a decent amount of effort to get a Christoper Cross sound-alike for the music. It makes me wonder if the Jazzercise instructor was embarrassed by the fake version and wanted to talk over it as much as possible.
Also, since when is any of Christopher Cross's music even remotely considered jazz? Was it because it had a saxophone in it? |

"Real Time" doesn't care about equal time. They want some actual verbal fisticuffs with the occasional snarky one-liner. I don't care for the format because Bill Maher just talks over everyone.
I've said it before. He needs to study how Jon Stewart artfully lets the wingnuts keep talking, spinning the rope that they eventually hang themselves from. Maher mostly comes off as a bully, and he's still hard to take seriously given his anti-vax and woo-woo medicine opinions. |
