Mentos - You can't piss on hospitality
03/02/09, 22:59

Yakety Sax, Mentos... I tire of them. If that's wrong, then I don't want to be right.

+1 for no reason.
MacGyver: Cleo Rocks! (Lyrics by Michael Des Barres)
03/01/09, 23:40

I'm not joking actually. Murdoc pretends to be a some famous French playwright and tricks a theater owner into premiering one of his musicals-- a musical that stars MacGyver's friend Penny Parker. I guess he assumed MacGyver might attend the premiere. It's a really inefficient way to get revenge.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers Intro

If you are going to rip-off several crappy kid animes, you could at least come up with a better premise than, "magical cards fell from the sky."
HBO Documentary on Right Wing lunatics
02/24/09, 21:00

Cena Mark-- I'm more than happy to make fun of idiots whose "liberal" views I happen to sort of agree with. In fact, I would say that self-righteous liberal snobs are far more entertaining than ignorant, racist conservatives. Have a sense of humor!

Interesting side note: the documentary is made by Nancy Pelosi's daughter.

The cameraman is commenting in the discussion area....
Campus police raid the NYU occupation
02/23/09, 20:43

I just can't get over hilarious the camera guy is-- shouting collective action platitudes to his spoiled liberal comrades. There are usually more productive ways to deal with a school administration, and I'm sure they could have discussed their proposal in a more rational manner. But apparently it is WAY cool to take over a cafeteria and annoy everyone.

MTV True Life: I'm a Backyard Wrestler
02/23/09, 12:25

Apologies... second part would not attach.
MTV Scared Straight
02/22/09, 22:12

I saw this on MTV when I was young. I don't remember being particularly scared-- but I do remember how awesome it was to hear "fuck" on basic cable about 300 times in the span of 20 minutes.

There are several more parts to this... I'm sure they will find there way on poetv at some point.

Not sure how those spaces ended up in the URL... oh well, search Stuart Slann on Google if you're interested.

Yeah, he drove 9 hours to cheat on his wife... who has since left him.

Wesley Willis Tribute Video: Running my Inkpen
02/21/09, 20:26

The guy wanted to be a rockstar and cut hundreds of albums, each one made under a few hours. He wrote ridiculous, sometimes catchy music. I'm sure he saw the humor in his music-- I don't think he cared it followed the same repetitive formula. It was like he was living in his own crazy reality-- and yes, it was probably a consequence of mental illness. But it's not hard to admire his life, and that despite his problems, he lived his dreams to some extent. Maybe brilliance isn't the right word, but you can't deny he was creative, even clever, in his music and art.
Wesley Willis Tribute Video: Running my Inkpen
02/21/09, 16:56

I submitted this because I am a huge Wesley Willis fan. I personally think his brilliance is misunderstood and all to often dismissed-- and I genuinely like some of his art.

You might notice the background music is not from a Casio. Wesley had a band called "The Wesley Willis Fiasco." He would occasionally have fairly severe schizophrenic episodes on the tour bus, so that project didn't last very long. But they did release at least one album.
Cameras in Digital Convert Boxes! BEWARE!!!!
02/20/09, 14:49

A Play by Jack Dalton written in 2 minutes

Scene 1

Conspiracy Guy 1: Holy shit we finally did it... we had to funnel a few billion dollars from a government defense contract, but we were able to install tiny cameras in digital converter boxes. Once we switch to digital, world domination will finally be ours!

Conspiracy Guy 2: Well, that's great...but, could you tell me exactly how that's going to further our evil plot to establish a new world order?

Conspiracy Guy 1: Do I really have to explain how brilliant this is? We can watch people while they watch tv!...huh........HUH?? See what I mean...?

Conspiracy Guy 2: ....

Conspiracy Guy 1: ...yeah...

TNG episode 16 - 'PicArt'
02/12/09, 23:12

I understand why Data was jealous... Picard's painting was way better than his slightly more homoerotic masterpiece.
Stephen & Renee Fowler - Wife Swap (Highlights)
02/12/09, 22:58

You know douchebags like Stephen Fowler exist, but you'd never think a Stephen Fowler would be stupid enough to end up on "Wife Swap". These 5 stars are for the casting director of "Wife Swap".
Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman (and drugs)
02/12/09, 18:30

I'll give him credit for trying to do something interesting with his career with this hoax. But he might be pushing the limits of plausibility.
Hulk Hogan vs Rocky Balboa
02/09/09, 15:56

The Rocky series gets a lot better when you only watch the first and the fourth one.
