06/05/10, 12:44 Growing up in Kentucky, I can point you to places where you can find children saying the same thing, but replacing "Jews" with "blacks" or "Mexicans" (or more colorful terms) and "Our God" and "Our Prophet Mohammad" with "Jesus". |

Lucha libre fan messing with la parka
06/05/10, 08:10 I remember seeing a flier for a Lucha Libre match on the roof of the Liggett dorm on the campus of Washington University (in St. Louis) in the mid 1990s. I mostly remember it because the tagline was "Don't just Liggett, suck it." It was later confirmed to me that the event was real, carried on into the evening, and participants at the end were arrested for trespassing and other nonsense.
Oh those crazy Luchadors. |

MST3K - It's the 80s song from Hobgoblins
06/05/10, 07:40 Mike touched me inappropriately.
But, really, there was an interview with Joel Hodgeson where he and Trace Belleau (sp?) stated that the show wasn't for everyone and that only a minority of watchers would get some of the jokes, at least in the way they intended. Mike, though, dropped the sophistication when he took over and went for groans and chuckles rather than jokes that you actually had to think about.
Yes, I know Mike has been a writer for the show since the start, but he's like the mother-in-law that should never make decisions for you. |

Arc Attack performs the Doctor Who theme song
06/04/10, 02:13 At first I thought it was applause. Then I figured out that I was thinking "theremin" and not "Tesla coil". Then I was all "Yeah, this'll be way better than a theremin." And it was. |
