Counterpoint: my roommate at my apartment before last was a middle school teacher who refused to teach the prefab curriculum, advocated relentlessly, developed his own curriculum and after a few years he had affected major changes in the standard curriculum simply by setting an example and producing results. Of course, that was in heathen commie Boston so it's hardly the same thing. |

Years ago a co-worker loaned me The Zombie Survival Guide and my impression was that it was a kind of a weird libertarian survivalist manifesto for nerds. Unfortunately the intervening 7 years or so have done nothing but prove me right again and again.
By modern zombie standards, the cop at the end of NOTLD would be the hero. |

He does garbage like Willard and, well, pretty much any other movie he's in that anyone who isn't a fan of his work has heard of (with a couple early exceptions) so that he can fund things like What Is It, which are some of the few really good movies being made today. |
