Muppets version of Nilsson's 'Coconut'
12/15/12, 22:50 For some reason I never noticed that either, until earlier tonight. |

Alex Jones - Obama Faked His Tears to Come After Your Guns
12/15/12, 20:36 I read this until Meercat's post and now all I can think about is The Jerk.
Sorry. |

12/15/12, 20:10 I suspect there are a lot more New Englanders on this site than I realize. |

Silicon Graphics IRIS 2400 promo Reel (1985)
12/15/12, 08:45 I know a professional video artist who still works with these machines.
A few weeks ago he showed me a computer from the 60s with 4 megs of hand-wired ram. Each meg was literally the size of the refrigerator that the Residents Ultimate Box Set comes in.
So it's not lost, just relegated to the domain of eccentric old men with giant beards. |

12/15/12, 08:42 -1 because it doesn't actually take much skill at all. |

Talking to one who won't listen
12/14/12, 09:58 Ok, he's doing a much better job at NOT falling into that stuff in the second half than I expected from the first half. |

Talking to one who won't listen
12/14/12, 09:45 He's correct that the interviewer believes in a subjective truth established by an external being, but (willfully or otherwise) ignores the fact that HE believes in a subjective truth established by his own senses and consensus among his peers. It's an improvement but he's still thinking like the evangelical he used to be. That's my big complaint with most of the outspoken Atheists and Skeptics I've met, read and seen videos of (as opposed to people who are skeptical and people who don't believe in a deity) - they seem to have the same almost pathological need to define their view of the reality as the ONE TRUE view of reality that the people they've placed themselves in opposition to do. Whether or not they actually ARE correct (and in my opinion they're at the very least MORE correct) is beside the point. |

Talking to one who won't listen
12/14/12, 09:37 And those limits are very reasonable and practical. |

Talking to one who won't listen
12/14/12, 09:36 A man who mistakes the finger for the moon and another man who realized the finger isn't the moon and blames the finger.
They're both missing the moon itself but between the two I'd take AronRa any day. At least his worldview is mostly right withing the limitations it has set for itself. |

Vintage Singing Bird Device (1890)
12/14/12, 00:24 Steampunks are just carrying on the age old tradition of drawing inspiration from awesome things of days gone by when creating shitty things today.
Not that I can criticize, I recently spend $30 on a book about the history and applications of pre-20th century glue. |
