I tried to find the actual origin of the term but didn't get beyond finding that the British use the term in a racist way and South Park made it cool for Americans to adopt that particular form of British racism. Apparently, people have been stabbed in Europe for having red hair. Some actually hate gingers like Republicans hate black people. That makes this video sort of like some white guy putting on black face and re-enacting a protest for civil rights. |
