It gets a bit cut here, but Aikawa is watching a sort of "ringu" parody in the tv screen at the beginning of the film, with the same blank/crazy look on his face as when he kills the dog. The video in the tv features a burned man holding the title of one of Miike's earliest films. |

Most fans of the original manga hate it becuase of the big shift in tone, but again, this is from the director of "Hausu". You can't expect a "normal" film from a man with that kind of credentials. |
