Dang. That beats my "girls are mean" life story.
I'm sure you've seen Hurt Locker, with the grocery store scene at the end, etc....?

I think maybe that as resolution improved and color came in, it became easier to tell rear-projection from the foreground. I think the only other compositing back then was double-exposure, which wouldn't have worked for these kinds of images.

No it worked just fine.

This and Idiocracy are both sadly hit-and-miss.

You could partly do some of that, but there are like 12 genres, so you'd have to do some serious shoe-horning.

Even if you only wrote it ahead of time, it'd still be writing 10-12 short films, and hoping that the elements that you have to put in will work.

I've done like 6-7 48 hour film projects. Yeah, some people must definitely cheat. Even if you don't cheat, the competitive advantage from having lots of money, lots of contacts, and drawing the right genre for you team is intense. You wouldn't want to do a 48 Hour Film with concerns about it being a fair competition. You just do it for the challenge.

I've never cheated, though I have planned like crazy for each genre.

The most amazing part of that link is how many times they tell people across the internet to come say it to their face.

Do they have no idea that they were actively courting the craziest person on reddit or facebook or yelp for weeks?

I'm pretty sure that Yelp does the converse too; they delete real negative reviews from paying customers' pages. I've read an article on that side of it too.
Arrested Development - Season 4 Trailer

Preach on brother BHWW.

It's good, quick dumb jokes, some of them subtle, and with a good batting average in terms of jokes attempted to jokes landed, and it's better than According to Jim.

But it's not The Greatest Thing Ever Made. Though it is some of the best American TV Comedy pure riffing ever made.

Now go straighten out those high-horse Game of Thrones fans please.

It's going to have lots of callbacks to jokes in seasons 1-3.

We lefties can usually throw pretty well with our rights, since we're usually more ambidextrous.

Just about the only manly thing I can do is throw right-handed and have it look fairly butch. Ok that, grill meat, change a tire, and get a woman all the way home during the ol' in-out-in-out. I have references, poetv, I swear.

Please let this be a joke that I don't quite understand.

I'm not defending this album as a whole, but this song is fantastic, no?

Also what does "opposite direction than talking heads" mean, like 22 years after they broke up??!?

Hmm, I think that was Windows XP, and only one song. It wasn't a great song. He's done several albums before that and since. They have many great songs.

I met him about 8 years ago at a book signing, and there was no one else there at the time. He was friendly enough but I didn't really try to engage him in serious conversation, because I have some pity for famous people I like. They've probably been through so much grief with fans and anti-fans.
