It has to do with context. Andy Kaufman's personas played with the formality of public performance at a time when things like talk shows, comedy acts and sports events pretty much offered a predictable, familiar experience.
There is nothing formal or predictable about youtube. Culture has moved way past that and so trying to make a farce of something that itself has no form or standards doesn't have any comic value.
You can't subvert expectations that your audience doesn't have.
This is why what Andrew WK did is funny, and why this isn't. The juggalos were expecting to have the experience that was marketed and sold to them. |

Okay so I started watching the full video:
after a ghostly silver-nitrate silent film of a wedding between a woman and a horse, an old woman, presumably the same girl in the video, now aged all these years turns off a projector.
Her first words:

Five stars for the guy who actually assaulted the guy just getting up and walking away @ :08 as a police(?) security(?) officer MOVES AWAY FROM HIM and lets him run away.
I don't know what is more worthy of a stars, the goofy police who have no control over the situation or the goofier looking extremists howling and sort of hopping around unsure of what to do next.

I didn't say you had to read _books_. My point is that if you are reading about something relating to science you are more likely to be engaging the issues actively: searching google, wikipedia, reading blogs, commenting - rather than simply being fat in front of whatever the Discovery Channel wants to tell you about.
That this person, when defending her interest in science can only name two sciency-pop culture shows she watches...that is gross.
No, of course you don't need to only be reading books, but jesus christ, please be reading something. |

Camonk is right.
I can count the awful comedians who have made it into the cultural consciousness on one hand. The vast majority of them are successful for a reason.
Anime works basically the other way around. Worthwhile anime is...what....Miazaki, Bebop and whoever did Tekkon Kinkreet? That's pretty much it.
Don't even bother arguing. I'm too awesome. Sorry.
