Billy Idol talks about 'Cyberpunk'

To be fair, it's good that he would, as it's an album at which I would fire a bullet.
Born Slippy NUXX

This is the only song for which (this incarnation of) Underworld has made the lyrics available to fans.
Tugboat (Live)

thank you for posting this.
Joe Biden
09/16/08, 08:31

If only EBN still existed, we'd have a track from them with a chorus of Joe Biden saying "PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE HELP ME...I'm being beaten."

Fantastic stump speech.
Doo Wop (That Thing)

That Fugees single made me really sad because it seemed like she had resigned herself to getting back together with two much-less-talented guys and pretending that she'd never put out her solo album in the first place.

I really miss the feeling of excited anticipation regarding "the next album" following the release of this one.
Sarah Palin RNC Speech
09/07/08, 18:12

Rather hilarious to see the GOP pick her as the VP candidate after quacking for so long about Obama being an inexperienced pretty-boy.

Roommate of Patti Smith and Lydia Lunch, lover of, and muse to, Richard Hell.

Phase IV - Opening scene
09/05/08, 20:01

I absolutely love this movie -- the book's also really good, and doesn't have as hippie-dippie an ending.
The 9-11 Tribute Video at the RNC with Keith Olbermann's Reaction

I noticed that, too. The GOP's blind worship of Reagan makes their accusations of Obama supporters being a "cult" seem rather ironic.
Biden responds to accusations of being a verbose gaffe machine

And somewhere, Andy Warhol smiles.
Planet Caravan

The only point to this is so that "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills" wasn't the worst song on the album.
Steve Doocy: Palin has international experience!
08/31/08, 22:34

My dad used to work at KU's radio station (KJHK) with Steve Doocy. When I was about four, the station hosted Ian Dury and the Blockheads for a concert and interview, and my dad took me to the station to meet the guy who sang on a record that got a ton of play in my household, etc etc.

Doocy tried to block my father from bringing his kid (and his wife, my mom, btw) to the station, as he felt it was "not the place for them."

Dury ended up sidling right up to me and talking with me about music and his own little nippa'.

In conclusion: fuck Steve Doocy. Rumor has it that there's a dartboard in the KJHK office with his face on it.
Barack Obama Acceptance Speech
08/29/08, 08:56

Not the best speech I've ever heard, but one which had several points that struck me as incredibly powerful. It sure as hell did the job it was supposed to do.
A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow

The scene at the end where they perform this again after not seeing each other for years has some tremendous acting from both of them.

I adore O'Hara and Levy as a comic duo.
'Art Of The Saber'

Am I the only person alive who prefers Darth Vader's "swing from the wrist, looking as if you're kicking ass effortlessly" style?

Touche! I'd been up maybe fifteen minutes when I posted that...

Wouldn't that be "welcome to violence, the word and the act"?
Anti-Democrat Humor 2
08/22/08, 08:37

Notice that the people who argue "republic, not democracy" only do it when they want to deny a group of people a voice. The rest of the time, they quack about the importance of "spreading democracy around the world."
