Godzilla, talking.

I feel the urge to dub the entire movie with Godzilla grumbling ala Fleischer-era Popeye...
Patton Oswalt: Death Bed
09/10/07, 09:20

I've seen "Death Bed," and it's just as ridiculous as you'd imagine.

Great routine -- wish there was video footage. Not so fond of the static-image dealie.

Ah, so you're still in the college-radio ghetto wherein you can't like anything that those mean guys in the smoking section of your high school parking lot might have liked.

So, Glasseye, what do you listen to, and how far do you take your absolute disdain for anything remotely describable as "metal"? Would you one-star anything with distorted guitars? Footage of Cookie Monster from Sesame Street? Musicians with long hair playing dopey dance music?
Ministry: "Revenge" (1983)
09/08/07, 22:44

There's live footage from before the album came out that shows Ministry sounding pretty much exactly like they did on "With Sympathy," which shows that it wasn't even the producer, let alone the label execs, who made those songs sound that way.

Not that evidence is really that necessary, anyway, Occam's Razor being what it is...
Ministry: "Revenge" (1983)

I dunno, they haven't released a really amazing album since 92 or so (though I guess Houses was okay)...88-92 was really great, but bookended by mediocre false starts at the start and half-baked rehashes on the backend.

And I'm a Ministry fan, btw.
Rob Zombie - Dragula
09/08/07, 19:32

It always struck me as strange as a soundtrack choice for JET GRIND RADIO, what with all the other songs being either dopey, mellow hip hop or manic Japanese pop.
Rob Zombie - Dragula

I've always found it kind of bizarre to hear Jourgensen claim that he was pressured by the label into releasing a synthpop album, as if a label would have signed a Big Black ripoff with no intent of having them record with their own sound. As if the label heard some TOTALLY HARDCORE AWESOME INDUSTRIAL demo tape and decided "aha!! THERE is our Human League!!!"

I'm fine with him discovering Big Black and Front Line Assembly and finding a middle ground between the two, but it's embarrassing to hear him try to play it off like he wasn't REALLY responsible for "With Sympathy." Karl Hyde doesn't pretend that he didn't write "Underneath the Radar" with the intent to land some of Depeche Mode's audience...

Not as good as they were a few albums earlier, but giving it an extra star to counteract Glasseye's eventual knee-jerk "boo to all heavy music" one-star rating.
Godflesh: "Slavestate"
09/08/07, 19:03

If you're just going to one-star every metal video posted here, why don'tcha just not watch them? A one-star rating from someone who actually likes the genre (or subject, or TV show) enough to rate some of it highly counts a lot more than someone whose ratings are just knee-jerk.

Yes, this even counts with Family Guy clips.
Mr. Show - 24 is the highest number
09/08/07, 11:38

I could almost see this acted out by Sesame Street muppets with a dubbed in chorus of kids going "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" and laughing every time someone says that there's no higher number...
Babs Bunny vs. Sephiroth CAW Wrestling
09/08/07, 11:36

That's a really piss-poor Babs Bunny, even by Smackdown-CAW standards.

Durr hyurrk, thanks!
"Strange Fruit" - Billie Holliday
09/07/07, 07:26

It really is a shame that she died so young (44) and so ignominiously (long addiction to hard drugs, 70 cents in the bank when she died). Wish there was an earlier recording of her performing this before her voice was blown.

Nevertheless, this deserves far more than five stars.
TERRORIST BLOOPERS
09/07/07, 07:18

I liked the little dance they were doing in the hallway after one of them kicked the bathroom stall-door open.
Pavarotti and James Brown - It's a Man's World

And, of course, RIP
Pavarotti and James Brown - It's a Man's World
09/06/07, 19:43

I'm a lot more of a Domingo mark, but Pavarotti definitely had a voice when he had his voice, and this is an amazing performance all around.
Cactus Jack: "My Uncle Willie" promo (ECW, 1995)

On a side note, how do I submit a new URL for a withdrawn video? I noticed that a few of the other Cactus promos are missing but found them on Youtube just now.
Cactus Jack: "My Uncle Willie" promo (ECW, 1995)
09/06/07, 14:27

Yeah, although the WWF style of promo is more of a "read some lines off in the middle of the ring and play to the crowd" deal. Foley (especially as Cactus Jack) cuts the best possible "alone with a camera" promo.
Anna Nicole Smith "Skyscraper" extended outtakes

"Does any buddy know hah to override the computer."

"We do."

"Come with me."
