Everything in this video feels just like a cut-away from My Name is Earl with Earl's monologue describing another one of Jamie Pressley's character's failed attempts at fame and leads into another thing on Earl's list. The cut-away would be about a really awful idea for a rap career and it would be really hammed up and cheesy and fucking horrible to make the point clearer.
This is exactly like that. |

I read Megatokyo a bit after it first started when I was in high school. By my standard's today it's not funny at all but back then I liked it and it was accessible. There was always a big emphasis on the two seperate realities between Largo and Piro that showed up a lot in the comic early in the series. After Caston got fired, Fred basically did away with the ideas of what Largo originally way and pushed him to a secondary character used to progress Fred's self insertion character. Last I checked, it's all the whiney bullshit Gallagher probably wanted to begin with. I ended up buying the Volume 1 Megatokyo manga (I was a kid) and it said something in the liner notes about how the 4 panel comic came along because Gallagher wanted it to be set up and read like a manga and Caston wanted it to be like and American comic. Basically, the comic is so bad now because he is basically talentless and just copies Japanese girly cartoons.
I'd like to vote Gallagher into the League of Evil Web Comic Makers. Along with Buckley and the guy who did LICD. |

You know, I can't at all remember this comic aside from the first 2 panels and I totally can't remember Slowpoke being in there but I've seen this comic with the Slowpoke before (not on his site) and I always wonder if it was shopped in or if Buckley put it there. Neither surprises me, of course.

It seems self aware that it's crap but kind of like a way that they think it's funny but they are trying to down play it to be cool.
One of the most unfunny and pointless comics I've read was the Rooster Teeth comics. Those were painful. I can't imagine they've gotten any better over time. I'm also sure Megatokyo might get an animated series too. Seems to be a trend here. |

The logic behind the main characters makes no sense. If there was some government madated law saying all black women must have abortions, it still wouldn't make any sense because shouldn't they be attacking an oppressive government instead of people who are doing their job? The whole purpose of this movie is to insight violence and get more pro-lifers. Other than that, their motives makes absolutley no sense at all and it's a slap in the face to domestic terrorists everywhere at how poorly thought out their motives are |

Basically, Balrd, Tim Buckley is a giant reeking pile of shit. His comics are pure, unrefined anti-comedy that is powerful enough to run bring back Dharma and Greg for 22 seasons if it ever comes into contact with it. If you really want to find out more about the comic, just go to the website. I'm sure you will find more than enough to convince you the man isn't funny. Tim Buckley as a person is a piece of shit. He regulates his forum on his website like it's his primary function. The chracter you saw peep from behind the metal door (Scott? I don't fucking know) went up there and was just never talked about again up until recently but if anyone of the forum asked about him or why he isn't being used, they got banned. There have been whole threads, whether it's discussing the comic or Buckley in general, that have been deleted and everyone in the thread banned even if they were defending him. He literally doesn't want people talking bad about him or the comic. He has stolen from charities he has and justifies by saying it was his charity and then buys stupid shit. Ethan, the main character, is obviously his self insertion character and is used to get feelings or is pointless ramblings across to the public, hence the miscarriage episode that is so worthy of being mocked. Buckley also used charity money to pay for sex but no hooker would ever have sex with him no matter what the cost so he ends up fucking sheep and crying when they can't have his babies either [citation needed]
I'm sure somebody else has more in depth details on this but this is what I know. |
